Currently undecided on whether or not I liked this tea. The dry leaf aroma is really lovely with some good distinct notes of baked apricot/apricot preserves. Steeped up it was weird thought because some sips had a bright and almost tart (from the hibiscus, in part) apricot/stonefruit type note that was pleasant and a nice balance of sweetness while others were more mellow and subdued with hints of toasted hazelnuts and even a mineral quality from the rooibos base. It really messed with my mind how seemingly on a dime the same cold infusion would flip between the brighter stonefruit and citrus notes to the more baked and nutty base…
Gotta revisit – need more time to mentally process this one.
Advent day 16, Apricot for Destruction. Such an awesome name on a tea filled with hibiscus. :( I think I could taste apricot under the strong metallic taste that hib translates to, but the metal is just too distracting to know for sure. I love Guns n Roses and wanted to love a tea named in their honor. I feel like something way more caffeinated would be appropriate.
