From Bird & Blend Tea Co.

Nothing beats the simple classic combo of succulent peaches & cream! Juicy sweet & subtle creamy flavours compliment green tea Japanese matcha perfectly!

We LOVE this blend as a creamy matcha latte! We combine it with oat milk, cinnamon and honey to create the perfect sweet treat – it’s also fabulous over ice!

Ingredients: Japanese Matcha Green Tea, Natural Flavouring Granules

The peach flavor is lovely and pretty accurate and a little floral. But the matcha clumps a little, and if you end up with one of those clumps in your mouth, it’s super extra gross. So I enjoyed this one, but there were certainly moments of bleh. It was nice with milk, whipped cream, and lots of extra sugar. And the insufficient whisking was really my fault since I’m not super thorough. If I had whisked better, this would probably be my favorite matcha of the batch because the peach flavor is super nice.

Yum for peach, but clumps – no thanks haha!

Bird & Blend Matcha Advent Calendar 2023 – Day 16

Very tasty as an iced latte! It specifically reminds me of either peach ice cream (which isn’t common, but my mom and grandma used to make it at home) or the peaches & cream instant oatmeal from Quaker. It’s more of a candy or canned peach flavor than a fresh one, and the cream is very rich and custardy, like melted ice cream.

As usual, the matcha base is grassy and just a touch bitter. Then again, I have to prepare these with warm water to start because of the flavor granules, so maybe that’s why I notice more bitterness (I usually prepare my matcha lattes with cold water).

Finally got more dish soap so now Smoothie Town is open again! (Why they gotta use up so many dishes?) Anyway, this was a new-to-me matcha so I whisked it up as a latte to sample first before adding the fruit and yogurt.

I recently switched from sweetened (vanilla) oat milk to regular oat milk because so many of my matchas were filled with sugar and it was just too much, but the last few B&B ones I’ve had have not been sweetened, and since I do find matcha a bit bitter on its own, I definitely think this particular latte would’ve benefited from the vanilla oat milk. It actually had a very vibrant, grassy matcha taste (but along with that, was just bitter enough that at least for my preferences, the latte would’ve needed some sweetening… which I didn’t add since I would be throwing it in a smoothie anyway). But I did get the flavor profile they were going for — there is a noticable peach note, and an even stronger cream/vanilla note, which was coming through even though my latte was a bit on the bitter side (and why I think vanilla oat milk would’ve made this one amazing).

Added it with peaches and some vanilla yogurt (there’s some sweetness!) in the blender and gave that a quick sample before stashing the rest for my breakfast tomorrow. Aaaaaaaaaaaah, there we go! Both the peaches and cream were taken over the top, and the bite from the bitter bite from the matcha itself was completely smoothed out. It was so good. Still a nice grassy element too, but sweet and tempered.

It’s no Nordic Berry Matcha, but enjoyable enough.

Matcha Latte Sipdown (238)

P is for…Peaches & Cream Matcha

The best before date on this is May 2021 so it seems as good a time as any to get this sipdown in.

I think I have only had this in smoothies in the past so its nice to get to try this without those added ingredients. It does have a very clear peaches and cream flavor, which is nice. It is also a bit chalky though, which is less nice. That is likely due to the matcha itself but it sort of connects to the “cream” component of the flavour and makes it that weird artificial peaches and cream taste.

Adventageddon Day 16 – Tea 2/4

Another familiar matcha from Bird & Blend, though I don’t know that I’d go so far as to call it a favourite. It is very tasty, with a juicy ripe peach note – I just find the cream element a bit artificial tasting and so, for that reason, I ultimately prefer B&B’s Peach Cobbler matcha instead.

I decided to try something new with this matcha since it’s one I have some familiarity with, and I made it up as an eggnog latte. I wasn’t sure if it would be good since peach and eggnog sound a little weird together and, well, turns out I was kind of right because it was really, really weird. Mostly because something about this particular combo of flavours made the peach taste very bubblegum-y.

I finished it, but would absolutely not brew this matcha this way again.
