I couldn’t place it at first, but I definitely smell and taste the rose in my first impression. That would be Sansa then.
After, I taste black tea with cherries and something rich, and a tiny little bit of hibiscus. The Hound.
It pulls together quite nicely actually. It makes me think of spices that aren’t listed in the ingredients: it’s earthier, but also tart and sweet. I think it’s the Ceylon Sonata. I like it! Each sip is complicated, but it’s actually not muddy – it flows between the different notes quite nicely, possibly because the rose is so distinct that I can focus there and go on to the rest.
Ok, non-tea related blabs:
I actually had a Game of Thrones sitting on my book shelf for at least 6 years before the HBO show even aired, and I never cracked it open. I just read the back and kept thinking, huh, politics, and skipped it. WHAT AN IDIOT.
I really enjoy the books, and I like being able to watch the show (and read the comics too! Ha. I have those as well). It’s interesting to see how each medium presents the story slightly different, and how the characters are portrayed. I’ve been trying to read the books so that I’m caught up to the TV show at least, but I’m also trying to do it slow because I don’t want to hit book 5 and not be able to move onto the next.
Sometimes I felt bad that all the fanfic I consume (and book length at that!) means that I can go months at a time without cracking open a ‘real’ book, but whatever. I really need to get back into the 3rd book of ASOIAF though!!! Esp since the next season will air soon and I don’t want to be caught off guard by any more Red Wedding crap. (Cuz yes, I take it as certainty that there will be more terrible deaths by the end of it… Just plz not Arya, Bran, Jon or Tyrion….. Damn. That’s too big a list. I can’t assume they’ll all live. :()
And the rest of this is off to Sil! I hope she likes it.
