From 52teas

I spent some time tweaking the base tea for this blend. I had to get it just right. This has an amazing mixture of Indian and Chinese black teas, including some Darjeeling, blended with marigold petals, oil of bergamot and natural cheesecake flavors. The balance of this cup is amazing. The sharp citrus notes of the bergamot contrast beautifully with the sweet creamy cheesecake flavor.

Grrrr… I can’t even rate this one.
My best friend like earl grey so I went on a shopping spree and purchased around 14 earl grey teas to drink with her. Unfortunately, this tea was not one I could drink past sip two while she told me she liked it. I told her that she is crazy and went to go grab a tea called Candy Floss since we drink around 120 ounces per sitting together.

I feel bad because I sent this one! I’m glad your friend liked it, but it does NOT compare to the original blend. :/

I like this one best cold brewed. I feel it has been so long since I had a good earl grey I have forgotten what bergamot taste like so I’m not sure if I notice any or not. I did not think it tasted like cheesecake until I had a slice from The Cheesecake Factory and it reminded of this tea so I guess somehow it does taste like cheesecake even though it reminds me of sweet flowers.

Sorry for all the notes lately I’m playing a game to allow myself to make a tea order this Sunday and another 5 days later. I would explain the rules but I keep changing them.

All I can taste is the bergamot. I really don’t get any cheesecake flavor at all. Pity, I really really wanted to like this. It does taste good, I like bergamot but I can’t detect even a hint of cheesecake, not smelling the dry leaves, and certainly not in the brewed cup.

I’ll drink it all, but given the option I wouldn’t buy it again. I can get the same effect much cheaper elsewhere.

From TTTTB: This is my first earl grey flavored tea. I don’t get any cheesecake flavor. That may be because this is my first time trying earl gray and that’s the only thing I may be taking. I’m thinking that it’s not for me.

I have two lovely samples of this tea! It’s a creamy EG with well balance bergamot. I have been drinking too much EG with a heavy bergamot lately and it tastes good to back that down a little.. Is there such a thing as bergamot over dose? If so… that’s what I had coming into this tea. I was a little worried that it would have too much bergamot but it doesn’t! There is a nice creamy element to the tea that is probably the cheesecake part of it. The flavor fills the mouth nicely. This is a tea I will have on my wish list.

I cracked open this and Lemon Meringue Chai, and I must admit it took me a bit to determine which was which after sipping them. Now, they taste VERY different, it’s just that both have a lemon/bergamot angle to them… this one is much smoother, more rounded, a fuller taste to it. Creamy. I definitely get EG when I sit and think of it. Do I love it. Eh… it’s really good. It’s a bit shy of love though, perhaps because there’s a weird bitter taste in my mouth that’s pervading the end of the sip. This may however be from the Lemon Meringue Chai, so I’m reserving my full judgement until I have more of this solo.

I know what you’re talking about. When I have one tea right after another, I sometimes have trouble breaking down the taste. I think wine tasters have the same problem.
