I’m not sure matcha and I get along. Not because of the taste, but because of the texture. I’m getting better at it though, because this one is much less grainy than my other attempts.
~1/4 teaspoon matcha to ~8 oz water. Made a paste of the powder with a bit of water, mashed and got the clumps out. Added more water and whisked with the bamboo whisk (chasen?) that I bought. And now I’m sipping and then stirring the bejeebus out of it with a spoon between sips.
Love the taste, I really do love the taste of this. It’s got a good apple flavor, not too sour and not too sweet. Texture is better than my prior attempts (probably because of the constant stirring with my spoon). I’m not sure that my normal tea drinking rituals work with matcha (slowly sipping a cup whilst going about my day), since the matcha tends to settle.
That being said, I’m still making myself another cup. ’Cause this is tasty!!!
Sounds yummy! I’ve been waiting for someone to review these matcha blends so I can see if they’re any good. The apple one in particular is one I’m eying. :)
Mine actually came yesterday too! It was just too disgustingly hot to get the mail. High of 90+ and heat index of 100+ today, but I think I have just enough time to enjoy a hot chawan full.
Today, we are expected to reach six consecutive days over 100 (consistently like 105-106 with heat indicies hovering around 110). 90 sounds like winter weather at this point.
Frank- I love snow but hate the cold… 3 times this week I’ve asked when winter will be here! That’s bad lol. Then again I’m used to A/C which we don’t have right now. P.S. Cranberry matcha review coming up.
Seriously, look at the last two weeks here: http://www.accuweather.com/us/ks/wichita/67201/forecast-month.asp
UGH!
