drank Candy Apple by Adagio Teas
6768 tasting notes

I JUST got my Adagio Shipment MINUTES ago! Is it sad that I get THIS jazzed about tea, seriously!? Do I have a problem? :) Anyhow…Candy Apple. It’s Black Tea with Caramel and Apple scents. After steeping it’s scent morphs to something that seems a little bark-like but just a little, not overbearing. The longer it steeps the longer the bark smell…loose leaf-wise NOT actual liquid…thankfully. The After Steep Scent of the liquid is a medium black tea smell. I can taste a caramelly-type taste but it seems like it’s interrupted but something else and I cannot figure out what…but it’s not apple. Just like “Gotta Have More Cowbell” it’s “Gotta Have More Apple”. It’s okay but I was hoping for more apple or a different type taste. It’s not bad, just not really what I was thinking it would taste like, I guess.

I have a caramel flavored oolong that I love. I steep it in apple juice either plain or w/ chai spices… it’s SO much better!

It would be interesting if they’d make a jelly apple flavoring! That’s what I think of when I hear candy apple, at least. Does this tea have actual apple pieces in it, or is it just flavoring? Saddened that that flavor didn’t come through!

@ teaplz – It DOES have actual pieces in there, yes! I think it just needs more!

Yes, it is possible to get that jazzed over tea - for our seven"tea"nth anniversary some years back, my husband surprised me with a big-honkin’ Rubbermaid tub full to bursting with teas and accessories he’d been squirreling away for months. My cuppa ranneth over and I spent days just fingering all the boxes and tins like Gollum and his preciouss…..

Awww gmathis! That’s super-sweet!

My mom gets exasperated over my recent tea interests, but my boyfriend is all for fostering them. He keeps badgering me to order some loose leaf tea online, and brings me packets of tea that his mom and grandmother have picked up in Chinatown. :)

I COMPLETELY agree w/ you teaplz. I still live w/ my mom so she constantly comments on how much I spend.

Cofftea, sorry … I chuckled at your mom’s “Constant Comment.” Appropriate for a tiff over tea, wouldn’t you say?
