drank Shangrila by Tea Licious

A perfect tea for a sunny day! (The highway flooded yesterday, so this makes for a nice change.) The scent and flavor reminds me of fruit snacks I ate as a kid, not a bad thing! This would make for a nice light summery tea. The green brings out the fruity flowery flavors! And it gets peachier the closer you get to the bottom. The pieces of tea that came out of the infuser looks like confetti in the bottom of the cup. Yum.

drank Mint Medley by Bigelow

I know this teabag isn’t the freshest. But it is still pretty good. I love that it tastes like more spearmint, as I like spearmint more than peppermint. Rosehips and lemon peel are a nice addition. Why aren’t Bigelow teas found on many online shopping sites? I wish I could find more of them.

drank Nilgiri Oolong by Tea Licious

I have just recently tried oolong and it became a new favorite. This here seems more like a black tea than an oolong (though I’m no expert.) There wasn’t a hint of that floral scent that an oolong should (?) have. It is a fine black tea though, if that is what you’re looking for. I’ll definitely be drinking more cups of this to pick out the flavor, but I think more of a description on the website (for all the tea on Tea Licious) would be helpful.

Well, I’m not much of a fan of green tea unless it is showcasing other great flavors. I wouldn’t call the flavors here great, though it has a nice scent. I also don’t like stevia and thought it would have been better off without it. I know someone who’d like this tea though and I’ll pass it to them…

Maybe this is an older tea bag but I really can’t taste any flavor here. I don’t think I oversteeped or it was too hot. It doesn’t even seem like a white tea.

drank Earl Grey by St. Dalfour

I really don’t like this. Dare I say it reminds be of bug spray. eww. Not what I want to be drinking in the morning. This was the first Earl Grey I tried and I don’t think I’ll be trying any more.

I have been looking through your reviews and like the variety of teas you have tried. I also wasn’t impressed with this one. Do not judge or miss out on Earl Grey based on this one. This tasted more like a cinnamon tea than a citrus.

thanks for the comment! I promise not to give up on Earl Grey just yet.

drank White Chai by Tea Licious
4188 tasting notes

I just had to try this white tea with chai! I thought it would be interesting to try some spices in teas other than black. (I haven’t seen a green chai.. I would imagine the green would really bring out the spices.) White teas are usually my least favorite. I thought spices would help me like this white tea, as chai is my favorite. But this is odd. The spices aren’t strong enough to me. Maybe the white tea drains the flavor out of the spices. Maybe chai spices just naturally go with black tea. Maybe I dislike white teas, no matter what is paired with them. But try this one if you either love white teas or chai!

Green chai is suprisingly good. If you like this you should try 52teas’ Apple Vanilla white chai :)

Flowers! Paired with oolong, these flowers taste fantastic. And of course it smells great too. It seems like a tea from another time. I want to say Victorian, but that would make tea sound too stuffy. This seems similar to a white tea, to me.

Now this is goood! WOW. The scent and flavor is amazing. I can’t imagine it being any stronger, even with resteeping. This is very delicious. You can’t have a jasmine tea better than this, I’m sure. I really haven’t sipped a Butiki tea that isn’t very very good. They know what they are doing! You can’t go wrong with Butiki!

I love a nice black tea. This one is simple and delicious. The hearty yet not-too-strong flavor pairs well with the chocolate chip muffin I had for breakfast. (The tea was better than the muffin!) The flavor stays with you (the tea, not the muffin). Maybe I picked this one to drink today because of the Irish movie I watched yesterday…

Most of the teas listed in my cupboard are actually sample sizes. I don’t really have 2,000 ounces of tea around here! Many of my teas have only one teaspoon left… maybe two. But I like keeping them in my cupboard list for reference to what I could be sipping. Usually, I write tasting notes once for each tea. I’m still drinking them, just not writing tasting notes each time!

I’m always in search of: Hattialli, Qu Hao black, Jin Jun Mei, teas using marshmallow root.

My dislikes: hibiscus, ginger (unless in chai), turmeric, bee pollen, charcoal type flavors

My ratings:
95-100 – Super awesome deliciousness favorites – cupboard essential
80-95 – Also pretty delicious
65-80 – Pretty good
50-65 – Okay
1-50 – Probably won’t want to sip it again

I’m planning on being a Steepsterer as long as there IS a Steepster, so if you’re not hearing from me, that means something happened to my health… if you know what I mean. (Or as evidenced by the great computer hiatus of 2019, something happened to my computer… I have a dumb phone so can’t access internet on that. As of 12/20/21 my wifi might start getting unreliable.)

Happy sipping!
