drank Mint Leaf Herbal Tea by Teavivre
4338 tasting notes

I bought samples of this with my last order. A few grams goes a long way with this one. So many leaves in the sample pouch! The scent is very strong, it almost blew me away with the mintiness right from the pouch! The leaves of mint aren’t too broken apart, which is a good thing, as it is already very strong. I figure the same rule applies to mint that applies to small leafed tea: stronger flavor. On Teavivre’s site they suggest 10 TABLEspoons of leaves for a teapot, which seems a little impossible. Even 10 teaspoons would be a lot. I went with 1/3 of a sample pouch of leaves for a mug which ended up being many teaspoons anyway. The taste is so complex, so many layers which is odd because it is simply leaves of peppermint! There is an earthiness, but also obviously a mint flavor, but then there must be a large amount of peppermint oil that lingers in my mouth as it is still very strong after drinking. I probably could have waited a few more minutes after boiling to steep, but the result is fine as is. Basically this was everything I was hoping from a mint leaf. Absolutely perfect herbal and I can definitely mix this with other teas! This could certainly be a mint herbal I’d stock up on, especially for my headaches. I should have went for a second steep with these leaves.
Steep #1 // 1/3 of a sample pouch for a full mug// few minutes after boiling // 3 minute steep

That sounds lovely. I really enjoy a pure mint herbal tea, but last time I was in the local tea shop I forgot to pick up any. This one sounds very nice.

Most of the teas listed in my cupboard are actually sample sizes. I don’t really have 2,000 ounces of tea around here! Many of my teas have only one teaspoon left… maybe two. But I like keeping them in my cupboard list for reference to what I could be sipping. Usually, I write tasting notes once for each tea. I’m still drinking them, just not writing tasting notes each time!

I’m always in search of: Hattialli, Qu Hao black, Jin Jun Mei, teas using marshmallow root.

My dislikes: hibiscus, ginger (unless in chai), turmeric, bee pollen, charcoal type flavors

My ratings:
95-100 – Super awesome deliciousness favorites – cupboard essential
80-95 – Also pretty delicious
65-80 – Pretty good
50-65 – Okay
1-50 – Probably won’t want to sip it again

I’m planning on being a Steepsterer as long as there IS a Steepster, so if you’re not hearing from me, that means something happened to my health… if you know what I mean. (Or as evidenced by the great computer hiatus of 2019, something happened to my computer… I have a dumb phone so can’t access internet on that. As of 12/20/21 my wifi might start getting unreliable.)

Happy sipping!
