This was part of a sachet sampler I ordered from My Cup of Tea, one of the Black-owned tea companies I came across a few weeks back while putting together the Supporting Black-Owned Businesses list with Roswell Strange and VariaTEA. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out on the Steepster discussion board! I’m adding more teas as I find them, so let me know if I’ve missed one.
Side note – There are apparently a few companies on Steepster named My Cup of Tea. This one in particular is located in Memphis, Tennessee. According to their website, “My Cup of Tea now exists to provide skills, good-paying jobs, relationships that would otherwise never come to fruition, and a step toward racial reconciliation in our community.” So, pretty cool mission.
My first thought when opening the bag for this particular blend was how much tea was included in my sachet and how nice and full the tea leaf looked inside. It wasn’t just tiny bits of tea and dust. My immediate second thought was — OMG, this smells just like vanilla frosting. It was incredible. The flavor is really nice – I can definitely taste the coconut and almond, almost an amaretto flavor there, and the base tea is sturdy enough to hold up the other flavors. This has been one of my favorites over this past week!
Flavors: Almond, Coconut, Frosting, Vanilla
