83 Tasting Notes
Thank you to Bonnie for this Awesome sample
This tea was Amazing , and I literally said aloud “Wow This tea is really good” !! It was quite shocking to find a green tea with this much flavor. It had a sort of “black tea” component , with hints of a very smooth green tea (No vegetal taste at all ;), and a floral note thrown in for good measure!! It was very smooth and re-steeped over 5 infusions for me, while still retaining it’s “black tea” quality (I’m not usually a fan of Black tea..but this tea was lighter and more floral)! I will be ordering some very soon to enter it in my daily rotation of green teas, along with my Jasmine Dragon Pearls, dragonwell, and genmaicha !!
Preparation
Thank You to Bonnie for this wonderful sample
This was actually a very good white tea…Tasted very similar to a green tea, with a melon/peach taste that was very subtle, and left the palate with a rich creamy texture. Quite good for a white tea ;) ( I usually like green or stronger oolong teas better)
Preparation
Love this tea!! I drink it almost every night at dinner time ;) I only use 2 teaspoons (8 Oz Water), then brew it for 4-8 infusions while storing it in a thermos for drinking ( I share this tea with my Mom ;) It is delicious , refreshing, and helps with digestion as well ;-D
Preparation
Thank you Bonnie for this Sample
This tea was very smooth, without too much earthiness ;) First couple of infusions had a sort of fishy aroma from the wet leaves..thank god the smell was not detected in the Tea infusion! This would be an easy tea for people who are daunted by Pu-erh’s! I actually liked the Ripened aged Pu-er better..it had a deeper earthy flavor which I quite enjoyed ;-D

This was a very good tea for a “Black Tea” (slowly opening to the world of black teas ;) I think this tea would be of interest to “Black Tea” enthusiasts and Non-Enthusiasts, because of it’s very smooth, bright in character, “iced Tea Flavored” (reminded me Alot of strong iced tea;) , that became quite strong/more concentrated in flavor on it’s 2nd steeping !! :) This is a very well made tea I would’nt mind drinking again :)
Butiki doesn’t carry it right now but it’s available elsewhere. Stacu might know.
Unfortunately, we don’t carry this anymore. I’m not sure which companies still have some left. Our Dragon Feelers and Golden Stars have very similar flavor profiles, which is why purchased them. From memory, I would say that the Golden Stars might be the closest.
Awwww Man…I was hoping to add this to my daily green tea rotation ;( Is there any way I can buy small samples/amounts of the dragon feelers and golden stars??
Thank you Bonnie..I will ask “Stacy”..i presume ??
Relmaster-Sure, what size are you looking for? We sell the Dragon Feelers already by the half ounce ($3.50 for 1/2 oz, which makes 16 cups) but could do smaller than that if needed. The Golden Stars are $6.50 an ounce which makes 7 cups. You could also use less stars and brew it longer to extend the tea. We could easily do smaller than that. Yes, this is Stacy. :)
Feel free to email me at stacylim@butikiteas.com
I will order a couple of ounces of the golden stars (you said they are most like the “blue nettle”) and an ounce of the dragon feelers..should I place the order through the website?? Thank you Stacy..you have been INCREDIBLY helpful through my beginning tea experience ;-))
I’m pretty sure they are the closest. I have a few blue nettles left in my personal stash. Let me know if you would like me to taste the 2 of those teas and compare it to the nettles. Also, I can just add the rest of what is in my personal stash to your order for free. Its not that much, only maybe 3-4 cups, but I can send that for you. We also do 2 free samples of your choice with every order. Our website is: www.butikiteas.com
Sent email to website ;)
