3 Tasting Notes
On it’s own, this tasted like a very mild coffee without any of the weird aftertaste. It got the job done as far as caffeine, no jitters. It didn’t really taste good so much as mild and a little pleasing.
Adding sugar, though, really brought all the flavor out. Wow! Suddenly I could actually taste the vanilla and chocolate.
I’ve found that I have some difficulty getting pu’er tea to consistently taste good. I’ve had a much easier time with this stuff and didn’t really end up feeling the need to go through any extra preparation. Sharing it with my coffee-lover boyfriend (who discovered the sugar trick), he declared that this was his favorite tea so far and he’s been asking for it ever since. I’m definitely going back for more.
Preparation
I received this as a sample and gave it a try. It smelled a little artificial, which was to be expected because of the “artificial flavoring” noted on the label. It tasted artificial as well, though, and that flavor overpowered the whole thing. I didn’t finish my cup, tried to pass it on to my boyfriend. He made a face and didn’t want any either.
