It was wonderful! I was just expecting a tea shop, but was surprised to find there was also a tea room in the back, with Japanese tables and cushions to sit on. You could order any of the teas they provided, which is really helpful if you’re unsure of which to purchase (they had a large selection). You could either have a single cup, a tea pot, or a gong fu set to enjoy your tea with. Having a friend with me who knew nearly nothing about tea, I ordered a gong fu set with some tie guan yin (I know, hardly adventurous). They had a very nice young man with a very hushed and pleasant demeanor come with the tray and set. He gave us the run down on gong fu, which refreshed my memory and could be helpful and informative to those new to tea, like my friend who was with me. This is a very nice store, with many beautiful tea sets and yixing pots. I wanted to buy almost everything and the staff was well informed about tea.

Awesome place! I wish they had a few more options for purchasing amounts. They have some extraordinary house blends though, some of the best I have ever had. I go here every time I am in Boulder.

Very relaxing, lots of good teas, very helpful staff willing to geek out a bit over helping you find the right tea.

I didn’t sit down for tea, and instead got a cup of tea to-go (though in retrospect, I’m not sure why).

The staff here is very knowledgeable about tea and the selection of teas is very good. While primarily a retail store, I was at first put off by the fact that making tea looked like a secondary job for the staff. I was pleasantly surprised by the calm, lovely tea room in the back of the store, and very surprised to know that the staff could serve the tea properly as well as just steep it for you. I wish I had gotten to come back to this place.

Amazing little tea house with a plethora of tease, friendly baristas (is that right for a tea shop?) and wonderful write ups of their teas.

Canisters line the walls with a write up of the teas, and a welcome chance to smell a blend, and right next to them are the lovely little satchels of loose leaf tea you can take home to brew at your liesure.

Fantastic store, just wish it were closer to me!

Ku Cha House of Tea has been my preferred place to buy teas for a few years now! The walls are lined with easy to decipher, well organized tea samples, ranging all across the available spectrum of teas. Prepacked bags of tea are available for the customer on the go, right next to jarred samples for customers to smell and read more about the particular tea. This place is like an interactive educational tea museum, I learn something new every time I come in.

You can also order any tea and any blend you can imagine as a single hot cup, to drink in their store in an area with comfortable cushions, or in a paper cup to go. The area for drinking tea and making your own blends is very lovely, separated from the store area by an artfully arranged arch. Last time I ordered a cup of Spring Thunder while choosing the teas to bring home.

I tell my friends I want to live in Ku Cha, it’s one of the happiest most comforting places I visit in Boulder.

Ku Cha House of Tea in Boulder is amazing! The customer service is excellent.
Each time I’ve visited this beautiful shop, the tea professionals offer me a sample of the tea to taste before purchasing.
On my last visit, a Pu-erh was prepared at the Gonfu station while I sat on a lovely wooden bench and watched the server deftly rinse, steep and serve my tea.
There is an area for custom blending your own tea and a teahouse with low tables and cushions at the rear of the store.
No tea tour of Boulder is complete without a visit to Ku Cha House of Tea (my personal favorite!).

My first visit to Ku Cha House of Tea was very pleasant. This is a boutique shop dedicated to tea, full of gift ideas, teaware, and a huge selection of tea. I must return soon for more…and a tea pig – a sign of good luck and a companion for the tea drinker :) I brought home 3 teas: two green teas and an oolong. I was with a companion who ’doesn’t do tea’ so we didn’t try the tea ceremony. I was impressed with the knowledgeable staff – no pressure at all to buy – and very pleased to have such a fine shop so close to home. I’ll be visiting again very soon.

This is a fun boutique tea shop with a variety of teas. This is kind of a goofy thing to say but they impressed me with their attention to detail by having an array of 3 zojirushi hot water machines behind the counter that regulated filtered water at three different temperatures. Imagine that? A tea shop that actually knows how to make perfect tea by brewing at the correct temperature! (I’ve seen tea shops that use a food service BUNN hot water dispenser that just makes boiling)

I am extremely fortunate to have Ku Cha a mere hundred feet down the street from my office on the Pearl Street Mall. They have all you’d expect from a boutique tea shop dedicated to high end teas: a vast selection of different teas, a wide array of tea brewing equipment and knowledgeable and friendly staff. And something you might not expect – or notice if you walk by too quickly… An authentic tea drinking room in the back replete with both on the floor and table seating, and a large bubbling water feature that sets a great ambiance. I take clients there for important conversations that are best framed with respect, mindfulness and a sense of being a world apart. Thank you Ku Cha!
