I first stopped by here due to a workshop on making marsala chai teas, and as he talked, the handful of us enjoyed various recipes/blends and techniques. The proprietor’s knowledge was vast on the subject, and I was grateful for the opportunity to learn from him. The business itself is small but cozy, and once I feel less guilty about buying tea elsewhere when I have so much to make at home, I plan to stop by more often for a more complete experience. However, it’s a little difficult to get to (you’d drive right by if you weren’t looking for it), and the parking is quite limited.

Super nice folks. Very small place, but huge tea selection. They use Shang tea for their whites and have high quality teas across the board. Scones are excellent! Prices are reasonable. They also do classes there. Every Saturday is afternoon tea, but you must make a reservation. They blend their own chocolate for their truffles as well. :) Keith is very knowledgeable about teas and seems to really enjoy sharing what he knows.

The ambiance is spartan and somewhat minimalist but they now have some photos on the walls taken by folks who work there – the store is full of artsy folks! If you are looking for flouncy afternoon tea, this is not your cuppa, but if you are there for good food and excellent tea, you’ll be pleased.

I didn’t make it by for their kick-off open house but we did drop by a couple weeks later. They had several teas available for tasting and one of the guys offered plenty of tea knowledge. Their food menu seems limited but looked interesting. Plan to go back and check out the quiche. Keep in mind the inside seating is rather small but they’ve done a lot of work to make sitting on the deck enjoyable. Nice choice of loose teas to purchase but the website is limited so you have to purchase at the shop.
