Went here with a friend for an afternoon tea and sweet pick-me-up. Cozy and authentic Japanese vibe. The was service was wonderful – attentive without being invasive. I had an iced matcha latte with a scoop of matcha ice cream and red bean compote. Delicious! My friend had the iced hojicha and a trio of ice cream mochi, which she swooned over. We could have stayed there for hours! FYI, you have to look for the sign and then go up one flight to get to the place. Loved it and will definitely be back.
A lovely place! The menu is set ($13, $20, $24) but comes with an extensive array of traditional Japanese foods, all of which were quite good. The servers were helpful and pleasant, and all quick to bring a new pot of tea. Largely frequented by Japanese guests, and even many of the non-Japanese guests came with a Japanese friends. Medium sized list of teas, but good quality. Recommended!
Two enthusiastic thumbs up, especially for Japanese or Tea enthusiasts, or Japanese Tea enthusiasts.
I had the Fukamushi Sencha and the Rice Porridge set with Japanese vegetable toppings (they readily adapted this for vegetarian diet).
Dessert was Matcha Mochi balls, delicious.
Very affordable at $18-22 for the set menus including tea.
They refill your Kyusu readily. Atmosphere was very pleasant, authentic Japanese decor.
Highly recommended, can’t wait to return.
They have an extensive list of classic hot teas and more modern iced tea concoctions. Everything they serve is served with grace and care. I only wish that the hot teas would come with the leaves on the side and a pitcher of hot water so that you can re-steep to your heart’s content.
