This is pretty good, but no substitute for a good sencha IMO

Yay! My first plain pu-erh! Just got a boatload of samples in the mail I ordered for upton….

The steeped cup smells very earthy and almost mushroomish. Color is very dark like coffee. I added a small amount of sugar because I like sugar in my black teas so I assume I will for pu-erh as well.

The flavor is rich and earthy. Not very astringent. Almost musty but not in a bad way. Not sure how I feel about this tea honestly! It’s so different!

It’s cold and dreary here today so this warmly spiced tea sounds perfect. I’m making a big to-go mug of it to take with me shopping this afternoon since I’m off work! Yum! Warm and comforting :)

I already knew I love genmaicha but this is my first experience with an “extra green” version with added matcha. This along with everything else in my sample pack from Den’s was very good and I would totally buy again!

Really lovely sencha base with a floral cherry note. Falling in love with green teas today <3 This particular tea is really beautiful dry too. The dark green sencha with teeny sakura blossoms is so pretty!
