Acquired during a Parisian sojourn, Dammann Frères’ My Madeleine rooibos blend is an olfactory and gustatory reverie. The aroma is a tender embrace of freshly baked confections, like a delicate vanilla cake.

Unlike David’s Tea’s Birthday Cake rooibos, which can verge on the overwhelming with artificial sweetener, My Madeleine exudes a refined balance—its fragrance sumptuous yet never cloying, indulgent yet never excessive. It captures the very essence of its namesake with effortless grace, offering a sip of nostalgia wrapped in warmth. As comforting as a well-worn volume of Proust.

I’m a curious person, I always love to discover new things, new teas, new brands.

I’ve tried several things from David’s Tea as it is the most accessible tea store in Montréal and that there is no minimum amount when buying in bulk. I’ve also tried a few teas from Camellia Sinensis and Kusmi, but their minimum amount makes me try less things.

I would really like to try new brands, especially French brands such as Mariage Frères, Dammann Frères, le Palais des thés and Fauchon. There’s also a lovely tea store in Québec city called «Monsieur T» that I would like to try.
