smells like matcha powder and tastes like a mild green tea without the grassy taste. actually it does smell a little barnyardish, but the taste is very much clean and sweet. i like this oolong because it is a light oolong with great aroma, flavor, color (it steeps up bright green), and taste. but if you are looking for an oolong with special character to it (ie, toasty notes, floral notes, creamy notes, etc) then this isn’t going to be memorable for you. however, i like matcha, so for me, this is a winner, so there you go.

really nice milk oolong for the price, i’ve seen similar ones sell for more than double. the liquor is very light, this is very much on the light end of oolongs, and the body is very creamy. it really does taste like there is milk in here. it’s a fine tea, subtle, but elegant. good for multiple steepings. so there you go.

the taste of spring. prominent steamed artichoke taste with freshly mowed grass — it would be a bit intimidating for the average american to just jump into if they’re used to store-brand green tea. but it is clearly a high-end green tea, and if you can handle tasting “greenness” in your “green tea” then don’t be shy — it’s the real deal, a true gourmet green tea. even a slightly salty taste of the sea in the end note. for my own breakfast i prefer my high grade dragonwell, but i can fully appreciate why this tea is special. so there you go.

wanted to like this, but it tasted artifical to me. the raspberry is very strong, which would be a good thing if it was natural tasting, but between that and the hibiscus, it really does taste like hot raspberry kool-aid. i did not try this tea iced, and maybe that would be better? at least it wasn’t a boring tea — you know you’re drinking something raspberry with this one. oh well, there you go.

wow, i’ve never had a tea like this. i can’t justify the $250/lb price, but i will admit it’s awesome tea. the color of the liquor is rusty orange, and the aroma is tantalizing with cherry, hops, and several other scents mixed in. the body is wonderfully full, and this is a bud-only tea, so of course the mouthfeel is extraordinarily smooth, rolling over your tongue and melting away. the taste is indeed of sweet licorice, honey, and beer, a combination that works amazingly well — something that you might stir together as a recipe and be proud of, but to think that all of this is coming from just one single origin teabud with nothing else added…it’s quite remarkable. this is not so much of a breakfast tea, but something i could imagine drinking at a brunch or high class social event. but alas, i really can’t afford such luxury, so there you go.

i don’t usually find first flush darjeelings interesting, so take my notes with a grain of salt…also, i accidentally used 205 degree water instead of 195, because i had it lined up with other black teas and forgot it was a darjeeling, so all credibility is gone, but….. this is a really subtle black tea, REALLY subtle, like, sit on a yoga mat and meditate while you sip it. the floral springtime aroma, buttery feel, crisp aftertaste — all very nice, but it’s just not my thing. if i’m drinking black tea, i want to taste something in it. so there you go.

a solid blend, a calming tea, very nice for a cold winter bedtime tea. the peppermint is the predominant flavor. the chai spices are so subtle that you can’t pick them out in particular (how do you hide cinnamon? ginger? cardamom?), but you can tell there’s something soothing behind the peppermint. while it is a tea that i would enjoy if you handed it to me in the right setting, it is not one that is particularly memorable nor one i would go out of my way to drink. if i had one mug of this a year, around christmas time, i’d be good with that. so there you go.

this is a dark oolong without the “toasty” notes usually found in dark oolongs. instead, it is sweet and smooth, tasting of honey and subtle peach, and overall tastes like black tea but without any of the dryness, bite, or astringency that a black tea usually has. a really really nice tea, and a good value. it seems like it should cost more than it does.

i thought this was a fun idea for a tea, and i tried it hot and iced both, but it just didn’t stand out for me. maybe not strong enough of apples, maybe not quite flavorful enough to capture my whimsy. i’m sorry to say i can’t recommend it. but there you go.

well i liked this simple blend better than i expected, but it’s not one i find myself going back to or wanting to share with others. i think there are better things to do with rooibos than adding peppermint. so there you go.
