drank Forever Nuts by DAVIDsTEA

Forever Nuts is one of my favorite caffeine free tisanes from DavidsTea. It has a fantastic rich, nutty flavor and it smells absolutely delicious, almost like a coffee cake. It makes me crave spiced cake whenever I open the lid!

This herbal blend also has a lovely pink color when steeped, so I like to make it in a clear cup. I could probably drink this all winter long – it’s fantastic in cold weather for a nice warm pick me up.

drank Alpine Punch by DAVIDsTEA

This tisane has a strong fruity smell when it’s first opened. It smells a lot like a fruit punch or a fruit cake, with strong almond overtones. When brewed, it’s a deep red caramel color and has an overwhelmingly almond flavor and scent (almost like marzipan) that complements the red rooibos quite well.

It also has coconut, cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom, but these are a bit harder to taste over the almond flavoring. I like the strong almond taste because it hides the flavor of the rooibos, which I’m not always a fan of.

This isn’t something I would want to drink every night because it’s an extremely rich tisane that can be a bit overwhelming, but it’s great in small doses.

drank Blueberry Jam Organic by DAVIDsTEA

Blueberry Jam was the December 3 pick in the DavidsTea advent calendar. When I initially opened the tea, it wasn’t blueberry that I smelled but instead more of general fruitiness. This tea has a LOT of dried berries in it. In fact, it felt like more berries than actual tea.

When steeped, it had a fairly strong blueberry scent, but the blueberry flavor itself felt a bit week even though it was a strong infusion with a ton of the dried berries in it, which was disappointing. I think I was expecting an even stronger berry flavor than what I got based on the contents of the tin, but it did remind me of blueberry muffins.

This tea does have stevia, but it added a very subtle sweetness that wasn’t overpowering. I think I might save the rest of this for some iced tea — I feel like it would do better iced than hot.

drank White Chocolate Frost by DAVIDsTEA

White Chocolate Frost is the first tea in my DavidsTea advent calendar this year and the overwhelming flavor is that of peppermint.

The tisane is supposed to have shreds of white chocolate, but aside from a bit of sweetness from the Stevia, I had a hard time detecting the taste of the white chocolate. In the tin, though, the smell of white chocolate mixed with peppermint is quite nice.

The peppercorn flavoring was also very faint — I felt like it could have benefitted from additional peppercorns and less Stevia or no Stevia all together (I prefer my teas and tisanes unsweetened). I enjoy peppermint teas so I did like this one, but I didn’t enjoy the oiliness caused by the white chocolate flakes and the peppermint.

Compared to other peppermint teas like Cocomint Cream, this one has a stronger peppermint flavor that masks the other flavors, but it’s decent for peppermint lovers.
