I love this place. Great tea selection, and a good food menu to go with it. It’s a bit out of the way for me, but if I’m in the area I will make sure to drop in for a cuppa.
Adorable crumpet shop! Very British! They close when they’re out of crumpets, so you have to try to get there fairly early. If you’re vegan you’ll be happy to know the crumpets are vegan, so add a bit of almond butter and you’re good to go!
Terrific shop in Pike Place Market. Famous for their orange cinnamon tea (and they have it in black, green, white, and rooibos), they have many different types of tea to choose from. They also carry quite a few tea accessories and a wide variety of spices. When I traveled here as a tourist I always picked up tea. Now that I live here I make use of their spices as well. Great shop!
If you are ever in Tacoma, do not miss this tea shop! It’s got an amazing selection, knowledgeable staff, and a comfortable space to hang out in. Whenever I go to pick up a bag or two of tea, I end up leaving with a cup to go as well. Highly recommended!!
I stopped here while in New York and really enjoyed it! It’s truly a tea drinker’s take on Starbucks, but there’s a niche I’d like to see filled in every city. Their specialty seems to be the frou frou lattes made on a tea base, and the one I had was outstanding. They also had a good supply of loose tea if you’re looking for something a bit more traditional. There was limited indoor seating and it was all occupied. When the weather is nice, there’s also outdoor seating and a nearby park.
I adore Tealuxe. This one is a bit out of the way if you’re visiting Boston proper, but if you happen to make it to Cambridge, it’s an excellent place to stop. It’s a bit more crowded than the Newbury Street shop, and doesn’t have the downstairs cafe, but still has the same great tea selection.
I adore Tealuxe, and go several times every time I make it to Boston. This Tealuxe features a cafe downstairs, and a shop upstairs. The cafe offers a full tea menu as well as food options ranging from sandwiches to desserts. The shop is fairly standard tea ware as well as bulk loose tea and a counter where you can order tea to go. They keep 2 iced on tap each day as well as a few other options such as chai and/or bubble tea. I got one of my favorite teapots there, and could easily loose hours sitting in the cafe sipping cups from a large pot of tea.
Extremely knowledgeable owner. I went in once and said, “I once had a tea that tasted like X and I miss it.” And he found something very very close to what I was remembering. Another time I went in and said I wanted to learn the difference between Japanese and Chinese green teas. He gave a good overview, then sold me several samples of each so I could try them for myself. What keeps me from giving a five star rating? The store is not heavily trafficked, so you’ll often be the only person in there, which can get to be a little bit weird. Also, the teas are stored in clear glass containers, which makes me wonder how long they’ll last. But if you want to learn about tea or talk to someone who knows their stuff, this is a great place to go.
