11 Tasting Notes
I like rose tea a whole lot, and this is nicely perfume-y. I would like it if the black tea here were slightly more assertive, but I’d buy this again. I saw a post on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/twiningsteauk/posts/381403215276096) saying this is the same blend as Twinings Rose Pouchong, though I remember the tea in the Rose Pouchong as tasting stronger – but maybe I am misremembering?
Preparation
I like other Ahmad teas and was excited when I got their bagged English Breakfast as a Christmas gift. I will finish the package, but I will not buy this again: it’s definitely not as robust/flavorful as my preferred English Breakfasts (Yorkshire is the default in my household; we also do sometimes drink PG Tips). Not terrible, but weak.
Preparation
The first time I had this I brewed it for 5 minutes and didn’t really like it: the chamomile dominated for me, and I’m not crazy about chamomile. Brewed for 10 minutes, I like it much better – there’s a little more brightness, maybe from the mango.
Preparation
I was excited by the mix of ingredients in this blend of green tea, green yerba maté, and green rooibos (spearmint! rose hips! black pepper!) but when it’s brewed, the spearmint dominates for me. It’s fine, but just tastes like a green mint tea to me, which is less interesting than what I’d hoped for.
