Happy first day of autumn everybody!

Thanks to an extremely generous sample from ::Nicole:: I am celebrating the first day of autumn with a very fine cup of Glenburn Autumn Crescendo Darjeeling tea. I can think of no better way to bring in my favorite season than with a delicious cup of an autumn flush of my beloved Darjeeling tea.

This tea is ripe with flavor. Classic Darjeeling floral notes along with ripe fruitiness, a bit of astringency, some nuttiness and a wonderful caramelly/vanilla sweetness combine to make this a very fine autumn flush Darjeeling tea that is as fecund and fruitful as the magical time of year in which it is produced. I’m so loving it!

I hope that all of you out there in Steepsterland will take time out to enjoy a special cup today in honor of the beginning of this most glorious time of year!

Flavors: Astringent, Caramel, Floral, Fruity, Nutty, Sweet, Vanilla

200 °F / 93 °C 3 min, 30 sec 2 tsp 14 OZ / 414 ML

“Anyone who has used that comforting phrase ‘a nice cup of tea’ invariably means Indian tea.”

Darjeeling is the tea that inspired me to begin my beautiful journey through the wide world of tea and will always reign supreme in my tea pantry! My first tea love, so to speak. I positively adore a truly great Darjeeling such as a good muscatel second flush. Autumn flush Darjeeling, I believe, has been greatly under appreciated. Darjeeling autumn flush Gopaldhara Red Thunder Gold that I purchased through What-Cha is the best tea of any kind I have ever had the pleasure of drinking! I am most definitely a Darjeeling dude!

Other than my much beloved Darjeeling, teas that I especially enjoy are fine estate Assam teas such as Assam Dikom Estate or fine Ceylon estate teas – low, mid and high grown.

Besides my much beloved Indian and Ceylon teas I must say that I adore a really good Chinese Keemun and is a must have tea that is always stocked in my tea pantry. Formosa Oolong is another favorite.

As for scented teas, I have a great love for Earl Grey which is one of my main go to teas. Other favorites are rose, jasmine, violet, black currant, blueberry, vanilla, almond, caramel, and spice.

I have a fondness for most herbal teas – A complete rooibos fanatic! I’m very fond of camomile too. However, I absolutely detest hibiscus!

Blacks, Chinese greens, and herbals are my main go to teas. Along with Earl Grey tea, green tea makes splendid iced tea!

My favorite guilty tea pleasure is Darjeeling with milk and honey as King Charles III takes his.

I try to purchase organic tea whenever possible.
