294 Tasting Notes
Decided to make this according to the “authentic” directions on the box. While heating up, it smelled so sweet and vanillay. I simmered it for 3 minutes and then poured the whole pot in my cup, forgetting to remove the tea bag. I then proceeded to get distracted, while the tea continued to steep. Maybe 10-15 minutes later I took a sip, and instantly realized my mistake. Way over steeped! I seem to have a bad habit of doing that. I was pretty disappointed, I usually make this tea the quick way, and it’s a sweet vanilla with a nice depth added from the chai spices. If does taste a little artificial, but still enjoyable. And since I like it with the quick method, I was excited to try the authentic method. Might try again later.
Preparation
Was woken up by my boyfriend whispering something about spiders this morning (I have severe arachnophobia, just the thought of them can give me a panic attack) so needless to say, I was not in a good mood. In the mornings, for my first cup of tea, I prefer something mellow, so I reached for this.
It’s very smooth and light, with a nice citrusy hint to it. Something nice and easy wake my taste buds up. I only steep it for about 1:30 minutes. Was a good way to calm me down after the creepy crawly scare.
I would recommend this tea to someone who likes a light tea with a hint of citrus.
Preparation
So far I’ve only tried Wild Berry Zinger, so I’m not going to give it a rating yet, but when I made Wild Berry Zinger today, it was very almost sour. Granted that might be do to the fact that I over steeped it (7 minutes), so I’ll try again tomorrow.
Preparation
I hadn’t realized how much of a routine I’ve developed until my boyfriend asked me why I hadn’t made my sleepy tea last night. Every single night, I prepare a cup of this tea, with one truvia packet, and curl up in bed with it and my boyfriend and sip while watching netflix. I don’t know if it’s all in my head, or if its just the act of winding down each night before bed, but I feel like I’ve been falling asleep easier since starting to drink this tea.
I’m not huge on chamomile, so I’m really glad that its not strong in this. I really enjoy the way the subtle mint compliments the prominent vanilla in this tea. Sweet, calm, relaxed, this tea is a definite hit with me.
(Also, I don’t understand how sand is a flavor option, but not mint)
