5 Tasting Notes
If you don’t like mint tea, you shouldn’t be here – but if you do, you’ll probably like Bigelow’s Plantation Mint. Big minty scent (you can smell the mint even before you open the box that the individually-wrapped tea bags come in), but the minty flavour doesn’t overwhelm. A characteristically well-done Bigelow blend.
Very poor quality tea. I enjoy Darjeeling, and if you manage to make this tea JUST so, it has all of the classic muscadet flavours, with just a hint of ginger and spice in there. But it gets bitter very quickly, has a tonne of sediment in it, does not stand up to repeat steepings, and has to be made in exactly the right way not to taste terrible. (Not to mention that it can’t be stored – it lost its flavour over about a month). Would not buy again.
Preparation
Exactly what you would expect from a classic English Breakfast Tea. Can be steeped for relatively long periods of time without bitterness. But I doubt that the pyramidal tea bags really add anything – they’re made of conventional filter paper, so they don’t really stay upright after you’ve poured water onto them.

I bought a tin of this at Ross (for about $2), and the results surprised and impressed me. The flavour mix (cloves, cinnamon, most of all some delicious orange rind) was spot on. Perfect for a cold winter’s day. My only complaint is that it will leave sediment in your cup (a lot of sediment, if you brew it for a long time).
Preparation
The scents of smoke and pine are perfectly balanced, but still allow the flavour of the tea leaves themselves to come through. The leaves are large for a relatively mass-produced tea; even fairly coarse filters will prevent sediment from passing into your cup. The tea will not go bitter no matter how badly you overbrew it. Overall, an excellent cup. Keeps well; order in bulk.
