9 Tasting Notes
A bit spicy, citrusy, and sweet. I definitely get a wine scent and a slight wine flavor from this, with a hint of… wait for it… bubble gum?! I dunno, maybe I’m super weird but at times I swear it’s there! Can’t really taste the oolong. but overall I like this one, it’s quite tasty both hot and cold.
I was pleasantly surprised by this, I’m not a huge Oolong drinker, but this one is really nice and smooth. It’s not at all bitter or overly “earthy” like some of the other Oolongs I have tried. I do get a plum flavour and it’s got a sort of buttery / creamy sweetness to it, but not in an overpowering or sugary way. I love this one, will restock.

Ugh. another tea ruined with too much hibiscus. Just my opinion, but I think a lot of tea blends go overboard on the hibiscus, especially fruity teas, this is no exception. I do like the creamy aftertaste of this, but the hibiscus just overpowers all the other flavors.
Flavors: Hibiscus
I love this tea. Really smooth and rich, but not too heavy.
EDIT: This tea is EVERYTHING. Love. Love. Love. I’ve tried 2 other ‘golden monkey’ loose leaf teas from other retailers and so far this one is the smoothest. It’s near impossible for me to over-brew, this never turns bitter on me, and carries a lot of flavor through several steepings. Love it so hard.
The smell of this in the tin can only be described as divine! The smell of this once it’s steeped, reminds me of cherry ‘hubba bubba’ bubblegum. The taste (imo) is a very light version of that flavor. I also brew this at a lower temp, for a short steep (2-3 min) to avoid the bitterness that can happen with this one. Brewed properly, it’s quite lovely to drink.
