It was a little bit bitter today. Didn’t oversteep, but it was somewhat overpowering. Sweetened it a little bit to take the edge off, and it still made a good cup.

Made a huge teapot of this for my friends yesterday. Sweetened the pot with an organic, hand-pressed rosewater sugarcube with charming crushed rose petals. It fit the mood of the rainy spring weather well. We sat by the fire and sipped it while the area around us flooded.

Visited my friend working at Saxbys and she made me a London Fog with this teabag. It was completely delicious. Much more wonderful than the London Fogs at Starbucks made with Tazo’s Earl Grey. This blend just didn’t fizzle out and die for me with the presence of milk.

Added this tea to Teavana’s list here (sorry for the photo sans bloom, I was in a rush!) … it is from the discontinued Imperial Blooming set. They replaced it with an updated version not long after this one was gifted to me. What a lovely gift it was!! This is a mellow white tea that burst into the most beautiful bundle of petals. It remained in my glass teapot while I drank, and while the flavor grew more prominent it didn’t get bitter. Highly enjoyable blooming tea.

I am in love with this tea! I purchased the 250g tin from Upton and was delighted to receive it the afternoon before a blizzard hit the area. I made a pot of it as we experienced some “thundersnow”, and added hand-pressed rosewater sugar cubes to the pot. It’s delightfully fragrant and isn’t bitter at all if oversteeped.

The rose, just like another person said, is a tiny bit spicy but never overbearing/cloying. I’ve finally found the perfect rose tea for me!

The last time I had this (and after my family burnt through 2 boxes) I found that it stains cups rather severely. I know tea-staining is normal, but I’ve never seen such dark & immediate residue that won’t even come off in the dishwasher. I had to sit down with a scouring pad and scrub it off the interior of several mugs. Still delicious, though!!

This is my mother’s absolute favorite Earl Grey and so I bought her a few boxes and tried a cup. So far this is an enjoyable Earl Grey. The level of bergamot isn’t too sharp and it has a light and pleasant citrus flavor. I’d love to have it with some cranberry scones and Devonshire cream.

I was wary of this, but it was surprisingly nice! I didn’t steep it to the recommended time, and it was a smoother cup than the bitter one I had before (my fault, though, let the tea steep too long.) Very tart, but with the addition of honey it becomes a well-rounded tea with a pleasant flavor.

I loved this one unexpectedly, too. :)

I bought this on a whim when Teavana was offering a free tin with any online purchase. When I opened the bag I was hit with the aroma of sweet egg nog, and my father made the same remark when he sniffed it. I brewed it and the egg nog dulled into a soft & pleasant vanilla. The tea itself was medium-bodied and very sweet with a lovely spice undertone. I added a small amount of raw snowberry honey and it was perfect! A new favorite blend from Teavana. :)

egg nog…..that’s a great note on this tea!!
