This is what I now drink on the weekend instead of coffee. I try to stay away from caffeine, but if I’m going to do it, I may as well do it right. It’s alright steeped in water, but it’s much better steeped in hot almond milk. Normally I would just use my regular 3.25% milk, but I was out, and had the almond milk handy. Really great. I like the natural sweetness of the cinnamon that comes out in this one, and the cocoa is great. Agreed that this is not a clean looking tea, but that’s alright. I steeped this one in water for about 20 minutes and found the mate flavor a bit strong; I’m used to drinking mates with a bombilla though, so it wasn’t all that unpleasant. Steeped for 20 minutes in the hot almond milk, though, made it something really special. I also use about a tbsp of this in my nordic mug, so much more than recommended. I like it strong.

I’m not going to drink this one every day, but when I need a little bit of a boost, I’d reach for this over coffee any day.

Also great steeped and cooled, then used in a morning protein shake. Bit of a kick, super tasty. I’m liking this one more and more, the more I drink it.

It’s not terrible, I just wish it tasted the way it smells. It smells gorgeous. Spices and fruit and wonderfulness. You go to take a sip, it smells like winter and roaring fires and being bundled up with a good book to read.

And then it tastes like hibsicus. I ended up getting this at the end of the season for a good discount, and there is a small part of me that’s been considering just picking out all the awesome parts and leaving the hibiscus behind. Very little cinnamon or spice. The popcorn is cute but doesn’t really add anything.

I’m disappointed. I’ll drink it, because I bought it. But I wouldn’t buy it again.

I’m preparing a Timolino of this as I type. I came across this a few weeks ago because it was discounted on the website. I have stomach issues so thought I would give it a try. I’m so glad I gave it a shot. The cost of putting this tea together would be substantial if buying the spices individually, so it’s nice to have them all together. And it works.

After reading up on these types of teas, I’ve learned that the longer you can steep it, the better it is (and the better it works). I would agree. I usually just get mine ready in the Timolino first thing in the morning and then it’s ready at lunchtime. Yup, I usually steep it between four and five hours. And it’s wonderful. I really enjoy the flavour, and I’m amazed at how well it works. If I sip on this all day, I don’t tend to suffer from my usual stomach problems (just general nausea and ickiness, nothing serious). It’s also nice after a Bikram class (even though drinking something hot after coming out a hot classroom can be difficult). It’s unfortunate that this has been discontinued. I’ve stocked up and hopefully it will last me a little while. I’ve gone through about 150g in the past month.

It’s become a very comforting flavour and aroma for me.

I keep a box of this at work at all times. Along with the Feeling Soothed, I have this on my person at all times. I have some anxiety issues and I find that this tea is great for calming me a little bit without making me lethargic. The citrus is a lovely addition, and helps to cut through the camomile. It’s nice before bed, but it’s also nice at work when dealing with a stressful situation, or just when feeling a bit overwhelmed. I stopped drinking plain camomile as soon as I discovered this one.

I carry a bag of this with me at all times. I have a bag in my backpack, a bag in my purse, I have it at work and at home. This works. It’s nice after a large meal, or just after a long day when my stomach feels a bit icky. It’s relaxing, it’s flavourful. I typically only drink this when I’m having stomach problems but that doesn’t mean it’s not a great tea. I just have a lot of stomach issues so I drink this one often enough as it is. Great in a travel mug if you have to go out and about and aren’t feeling 100%.

drank Tazo Chai by Tazo

Not bad for a chai, but not the best. I’m realizing that it’s better to just get the masala and add your own teabag to it. I think the trick with chai is to really let the spices brew for a long time, which you can’t do when there’s black tea mixed in. This one isn’t bad, and it’s fine black (also fine with milk and sugar), but I’m going to finish up my current box of it and that’ll be it. If you’re looking for a quick, easy chai, this one would do it.

drank Green Ginger by Tazo

I thought I really liked this tea. I had a cup at a meeting once, with a bit of honey. It was quite good. Then I made this mistake of buying a box for myself. I don’t know what to say about this tea, other than I don’t like it. The green tea flavour is a bit off, the ginger flavour is a bit off. Sweetened or unsweetened, this just doesn’t do it for me.

drank Wild Sweet Orange by Tazo

Tangy and fruity and slightly acidic. Apparently I’m going against the grain but…I drink it all the time. It’s great hot, I like it iced. I agree with reviewers who say that it’s very tart, but I actually like that. It’s great on a second brew as well. This is great as a little pick-me-up in the middle of the workday. I never add any kind of sweetener to it as I find it to have just the right amount of sweetness. Lots of great orange flavor.

drank Mate Chai by The Tao of Tea

I have the Mate Mint by Tao of Tea and after trying the Chai, I haven’t gone back. I like the spice in this, it’s well-rounded and works on multiple brewings (as mate must). The first brew I usually only do for 30 seconds or so, and then drink as quickly as possible through the bombilla. Then I’ll do a 1-minute, and then on the third addition of water, I can usually leave it for a few minutes. The spice flavours aren’t as prevalent through the third steep, but they’re still quite pleasant. Overall, probably my favourite mate.
