60 Tasting Notes
I found this cake stored away in the back of a closet recently. With longer steep times it has a slightly stronger scent with a hint of smoke, decidedly amber color, but the flavor is still mild and there is little mouth feel. It’s not bad, just bland and I can’t see bothering to brew it again.
Preparation
Slightly fruity with a hint of cut grass and pleasant, fresh but mild taste. Very easy to drink but not really a lot of character. A couple China greens I’ve tried are really enjoyable, but some I find difficult to distinguish when tasting.
Preparation
I’ve had really good Golden Monkey from other vendors, but this one seems unusually plain. It’s malty, mildly bitter, and the chocolaty slightly floral aroma that makes Golden Monkey so pleasurable comes off somewhat bland. Possibly the better qualities of this tea are overshadowed by the lingering bitterness.
Preparation
An interesting tea that has the scent of a floral Oolong, but also has a mild woody green character on the tongue. It’s not really distinctive or robust, but it’s good if you’re not expecting it to give a stronger Oolong style experience.
