I found myself in the tea section at Target last night, and I thought to myself, “Berry? Chocolate? Earl grey? I love all those things!” It seemed like a lot for a tea to have going on, but it wasn’t too expensive so I decided to give it a shot. It is quite yummy. The strongest flavors are the black tea, chocolate, and berry. I think the bergamot might be hiding itself within the berry flavor a bit.
I tried a sip plain, and it seemed pretty good. I was in the mood for milk and sugar, and adding those seemed to bring out the flavors.
Also, I like that the pyramid bags are plant-based rather than petroleum-based. I’m not sure if it’s compostable, but I’ll give it a try.
Preparation
The blueberry completely overwhelms the delicate nature of the white tea. Also, I’m used to loose leaf blends with smaller pieces — this batch looks like it contains the twigs and branches of the tree, not just the leaves. Unpleasant. I trashed it.
Preparation
I was pleasantly surprised by this tea. As another taster noted, it’s a great balance between cost and quality. It tolerates accidental overbrewing quite nicely, so I frequently choose it when brewing while getting ready for work (when I’m easily distracted and forget to push the plunger in time!). Similar to an English Breakfast but without some of the woody, forward notes. Gentler tannins. Great with a bit of milk and sugar, and quite amenable to a second brew off the leaves.
Preparation
This is my all-time favorite tea! The aroma and flavor are wonderful and there is no mistake that you are sipping jasmine tea – you can clearly see the flower parts right in the tea leaves! My sister in-law introduced it to me and now we are both hooked; however, Target here in Louisville, KY does not seem to be carrying it any longer. Does anyone out there know where I can still find this wonderfully fragrant jasmine tea? Thank you!
