Montreal Tea Festival – Tea #8
I’m not really sure what exactly was the deal with this booth at the tea festival – it was entirely in French so I couldn’t read anything but the decorations/display looked like a mix of Christmas ornaments, cosmetics, and teabags!? It was all very confusing.
I grabbed a sample of this tea, which was one of about five teabags they were sampling – most of which were herbal chai blends. The sample was made with a teabag, and they were showing off that it was steeped in this large glass thermos of hot water. I don’t know exactly why that seemed to be a selling point for the tea!? In reality, the tea wasn’t bad tasting (soft mint, a bit creamy) but it was VERY thin and watery – which I think really was just because the amount of tea in the teabag was far too little for the size of thermos they were steeping in…
Got a free sample of this. My mechanic’s wife is a consultant, apparently.
This is tastier than the Yogi Detox but not worth the asking price. I taste dandelion and spearmint and licorice. I don’t like licorice, but overall it’s a pretty typical, otherwise inoffensive herbal tea.
Flavors: Dandelion, Licorice, Spearmint
I personally sell Arbonne, and wanted to give this tea a try. It tastes just like sleepy time tea if anyone has ever tried that. I honestly liked it. It is geared toward detox, and I found it quite relaxing. A bit of honey made it great :)
Preparation
I used to drink this daily and I really need to get back into it. But, YAY! I have a couple left. Bagged is easy for me today so that’s another plus. This is an herbal blend so I normally steep this in green or white tea, but I don’t need the caffeine and I don’t wanna putz around w/ it so I’m just gonna have it plain. Minty and slightly medicinal (kinda like ginseng). Just what I need. I’ve been sucking on green tea latte candy between my tea, but I still can’t stop coughing.
Preparation
It’s $20 for 14 bags, although I became a whole sale customer back when the discount was 35% (now it’s 20%). I haven’t looked into any other detox blends(although I’m looking for a good loose leaf version), but like any other high quality tea it is more expensive than dust in a bag. Product quality for anything, like beauty products or tea, costs more because fillers are cheap.
Wow, steeping herbal tea in green or white tea, I never thought of that. I’m learning so many things on here!
@Peggie, that’s because while I enjoy the flavor some herbals I drink tea not only for the taste, but also the health benefits. Steeping them separately also allows you to steep each of the blend components in the amount you want, in the temperature you want, and for the time you want.
I would take it just because of tea bags. They are not super pretty, but fir exchanges… :D
Otherwise I am not interested in detox, cleansing teas. Moreover their policy is bit weird, that I have to order it from somebody (they call those people consulatant). Sounds blah for me.
Not a tea for me I guess and I won’t have it in my collection.
