Sipdown! (128) This may be my last sipdown for the day, but I’m okay with that. Again, this is a very nice sachet with lots of room for the tea to expand. I wouldn’t trust it with, say, an oolong or a white, but for most other types of tea I think this is one of the best sachet designs I’ve seen. The dry tea smells very jasmine-y but not overwhelmingly or sharply so.
I brewed this a shorter time than the package recommends, probably as a reaction to my horrific encounters with oversteeped Jasmine Jazz. Even so it’s bitter. Even when I ignore the bitterness it’s pretty lackluster; where is all the jasmine flavor I smell so clearly? It’s so slight I barely notice it, and there’s not even the usual sweet aftertaste jasmine tends to lend to tea.
