One of the samples I ordered from Tao Tea Leaf. I took this in my Timolino yesterday. I like taking white teas in the Timolino as it keeps them nice and hot. They are brewed at such low temperatures and I hate it when my tea cools down too fast. So keeping in mind the Timolino also does not make the best tasting enviroment for a tea , I enjoyed this tea but cannot remember anything remarkable about it. It was delicate and not bitter…..

Darn! Just can’t remember much about it. No rating but I’ve had White Peony tea before from other companies and it’s never been my favourite unflavoured white.

drank Green Rhubarb by The TeaCupany

Took this tea in my Timolino today. It’s got a sweet grassiness with a nippy rhubarb edge to it. I’ve tasted something like this rhubarb flavouring somewhere else but can’t remember. Overall, an enjoyable tea. I liked it even better than my first cup so maybe this one will grow on me more.

drank White Guava Chai by Tealux

I didn’t really enjoy this tea. Took it in my Timolino yesterday morning and threw it out . I just didn’t enjoy the ginger peppercorn spiciness. I have no idea what guava tastes like so couldn’t tell if it was there or not. I don’t like a lot of chai teas so I’m not surprised this one didn’t appeal to me. It seems the spicy flavour just overpowered the delicate white tea.

I just love high mountain green tea in general. This seems like a good quality one. Sweet, buttery, not grassy, smooth. First cup – excellent. 2nd infusion – a bit weak. I think I didn’t let it steep long enough. I added an extra minute onto the steep time. it’s still good .

drank Organic Yunnan Green by Tea At Sea

Had this tea yesterday from a free sample from Tea at Sea. Can’t remember much about it. Nothing was outstanding and nothing bad. It seemed like a perfectly fine cup of green tea. Probably would need to drink it a few time to determine if I really like it.

drank Da Hong Pao by Tea At Sea

Thank you Tea at Sea for this sample. In the bag it had a strong charcoal smell. Brewed up really rich and dark. Malty, charcoal. I’m not picking up the floral that others got. Maybe it will come through more in a second infusion. I’m not used to such roasty teas either so the dark roasted flavour could be overwhelming my taste buds. It’s a good tea but I think I prefer the light oolongs.

drank Apricot green by The TeaCupany

I don’t know why it is but I am at a loss of words to describe this tea. I have been enjoying some unflavoured green teas lately and when I taste the flavoured it comes across as not natural to me. I still think the tea is good. It’s got a decent green base, a bit astringent. The apricot flavouring is okay and could be adding to the astringent taste. Nothing bad about this tea but nothing seems to really make me love it either. Holding off on any rating until I’ve had a few cups of this. It might grow more on me later.

Flavors: Apricot

Green teas are my favourite teas but I also enjoy: white, some herbal, rooibos, raw pu’erh, light oolongs, a little bit of black , and a little bit of ripe pu’erh. I have moved away from artificial flavourings and there’s hardly anything left in my cabinet with artificial flavouring or colours. It is mostly straight teas or tea blends.
