This was a nice, light tea. It felt very cleansing after a big meal. While I don’t know that Buddha would have drank this (he was born in Nepal and I’m not sure what they would have drank there at the time) it is certainly something I can imagine drinking while at a meditation retreat, or to relax in the afternoon. It tastes like a peachy green tea, nice and fruity.

This tea was most definitely not for me. I don’t like chocolate teas, so that will qualify my tasting note right off the bat. I didn’t care for the smell and wouldn’t have tried it if it weren’t in my Advent Tea Calendar. But…as this was my Advent plan, to go through all 24 tea samples, I decided to give it a go. I liked the peppermint tones, and I liked the vanilla. I even liked the cute red lips. But, I most definitely did not like the chocolate—while I love chocolate, I prefer it in dessert or hot cocoa, not in my tea. I would not have this again, and I poured out my cup without being able to finish it. I was only able to down half of it. My opinion, for what its worth: if you love tea, drink tea. If you love chocolate, eat or drink chocolate. Maybe even at the same time. But when it comes to mixing them—blech.

I shouldn’t have tried this tea. While it smells and tastes like a nice fruity green tea, I feel agitated after having had it. It is described as a “stimulant” but until I tried it, I didn’t realize it would have this effect. If you aren’t supposed to be having caffeine, I don’t think this tea would be good for you either.

I am a big fan of Cream of Earl Grey, but hadn’t tried David’s version yet. It looks pretty, just like the picture. It has the nice vanilla tones and muted Earl Grey aspects as other brands. However, it seems a bit sweeter to me than it should be, like some type of sweetener has been added… I do like this tea, but I prefer the Herbal Infusions version which has all the right flavour but not the over-sweetness that I seem to be tasting in David’s version.

Definitely a straight rooibos honeybush blend as advertised. No additional flavours or ingredients. Since I’m not a big fan of rooibos, this isn’t one I would have again. I drank it without milk. Since they indicate that it does well with milk, I might try it again that way to see if it improves it for me.

This one smelled like cinnamon hearts. A lovely cinnamon taste, very sweet, none of the burn one would get from eating cinnamon hearts. I liked it, but too sweet for my taste. Definitely like drinking a dessert.

Good, reliable standard. Goes well with milk. Smooth and full-bodied. Nothing extraordinary, but does the trick for a nice cuppa anytime of day.

Really like this tea! I could smell and taste the vanilla, but unlike some other flavoured black teas the smell was not overpowering. I liked the look of it with the gold balls and sugar crystals. I didn’t really taste the cinnamon or cloves so I wouldn’t have known those were part of the tea if I didn’t read it in the description. I like to drink my tea with milk, and while this tea didn’t give a strong colour, it could still support a touch of milk. I think this is a good tea for an occasional treat. But knowing me, wouldn’t want to have it too often so that I don’t get tired of it. Addendum: I had it again with a longer steeping time (more like 5 or 5:30) and it improved it for me. A nice caffeine kick too from the black tea. This is a keeper.

I thought this was a great tea for stress-relief and relaxation. I drank it at work; it wasn’t overkill on the valerian as it didn’t make me drowsy. However, I would recommend it as something to drink to wind down in the evenings.

I’m an Archivist who is addicted to tea. I love tea—it always improves my mood. My preference is for straight black teas though there is the occasional flavoured black tea that gets me smiling. These days I’m exploring Chinese tea and gongfu cha.
