19 Tasting Notes
First off: Starbucks, you need to tone it down a bit. Yes, I want hot tea. No, I do not want it THAT hot. No, I’m not a big baby, my tongue had an actual mark/burn taste on it for several days after blindly taking a sip of this. I’ve never had this kind of experience with this coffee so what are you doing?
Now onto the tea itself. I can definitely tell where the flavors divide in the tea. I think I liked the middle part the best. I might drink this again, with my own temperature set.

Maybe my tastebuds are too sensitive, but I got this at a T.J. Maxx actually with high hopes and it tasted like cleaning supplies to me. I wasn’t getting much of a mint or ginger. The lemon was coming through in the flavor of Pledge! While I’ve never actually sprayed Pledge directly into my mouth, I have a feeling it tastes a lot like this tea, and it certainly smells like it.
Flavors: Bitter, Lemon
Preparation
This is an odd tea. I liked this tea, but something about it is throwing my taste buds off. It’s a tad bit more fruity than I expected, but it is not overly sweet. I think I would have this tea again.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Fruity
Preparation
Tazo, I want to like your tea. I really do. This smelled great. Tasted unsweetened the taste of sweet cinnamon didn’t hit once, except for a faint, teasing aftertaste. But I thought I liked the aftertaste.
So I laughed and thought, “Mrs. Tazo, you’re trying to seduce me. Aren’t you?” But I didn’t say that out loud because my family thinks I’m weird enough as it is.
Adding just a half-packet of monkfruit in this made it sweet. In fact, too sweet. I sort of thought I liked it for a while…until I got through half the cup, left it sitting there for a while, and realized that I really did not have any desire to finish this tea.
As someone previously mentioned, a better cinnamon tea is the Hot Cinnamon Spice by Harney and Sons.
Flavors: Sugar
Preparation
On the high end of decent for me. The peppermint definitely is able to stand out more once a sweetener is added. Not amazing, but not bad for a run-of-the-mill store tea. If I’m going with mint, I prefer a Moroccan Mint.
Flavors: Peppermint
Preparation
This is my absolute favorite tea. I could go through a whole tin of this in one day with some willpower. And a lot of bathroom trips.
Sweetener: Not needed. Letting mine steep for five minutes brings out a bold slap of cinnamon – maybe too much for some people but it’s a flavor I absolutely love. No other tea gets to this level of cinnamon or spice in my opinion.
