drank Unknown 2006 Shou by Guoyan
880 tasting notes

This is one of my favorite shous. It’s perfect for a long, relaxing tea session. I honestly lost count of how many infusions it can go through. It’s incredibly smooth, mellow, a bit sweet, hearty, and earthy. The body has the right amount of thickness and the throat is pleasantly long. It’s a very easy going shou. This could be a daily drinker. The one thing that I will say, though, is that it is not as complex as I remembered it being the first time I enjoyed it. I may fiddle around with parameters during the next session with it and see how the complexity changes.

Ps. I took some photos while I was brewing this and as a super amateur photography, I CANNOT believe that I was able to get these shots:

Bio

Wolf girl. Writer. Artist. Gamer. Geek.

I joined Steepster back in August of 2009. Since then, I have been lurking around shyly and taken it all in. Just recently, I decided to log all of the teas that I have in my cupboard and from there I decided to be a bit more active on the site!

I’m addicted to four things: Tea, wolves, indie perfume, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

My favorite teas right now: Ming Hong and Halmonicha

Broadly speaking I also love: Most Chinese red teas, most Fujian oolongs, and balhyochas.

I’ve been drinking loose-leaf teas since childhood. I love everything from tieguanyin to gyokuro to a good British cuppa. I am looking forward to trying every tea type out there and building an extensive pu-erh library.
