6 Tasting Notes
I admit, I hated this at first. I told a fellow Steepster in a PM that the taste reminded me of chewing tobacco. This is my last sample bag of it and I decided to give it one more try, just to make sure I still hated it. I am glad I did. This time, instead of beet sugar crystals, I used regular table sugar and added cream until it was the color that I prefer my coffee. OMG, it is really good. I taste some hints of chocolate and the background of what I thought tasted like chewing tobacco accents it very well. I would have never thought I would have 3.5 oz of this in my cart, but I do. I just don’t know if I am going to pull the trigger or buy Fengqing Dragon Pearl Black Tea instead.
Preparation
I received this as a free sample from Teavivre and have to say I am very impressed with their business ethics. They are very helpful and stayed in contact with me until my free samples arrived. The E-Mails sent were real and not automated which is very important to me. My next purchases I make will defiantly be from them.
Now for my review of the tea itself. Upon opening the tea it smelled GREAT and I was very excited to try it. 1st steep was for 2 and was 5 minutes in an Adagio Teas 32-Ounce Iced Ingenuitea Teapot and there was absolutely no taste what so ever and my daughter agreed. 2nd steep was for 10 minutes, thats right, 10 minutes. It was much better and somewhat enjoyable. The strawberry was subtle and not generic in taste. Though I do not think I would purchase this tea, I am enjoying the free sample. I have one more sample of the tea left and I will give it another chance. As of right now I think about 60 is where I stand on this one. I will update my review if that changes with the other sample.
Preparation
Firstly, i’m glad you are impressed with our services, we will continue provide good service all the time.
I’m sorry our Strawberry Oolong Tea is not your favorite flavor, i think 32-Ounce is too much, it might caused this tea no taste. You can try less water to brew to in the next time, maybe it will bring you a surprise.
I received this as a free sample and both me and the kids loved it. Has a true apple taste with a nice tartness that was perfect. Much like other reviewers, I think this would make an excellent iced tea. The only thing I did not care for was the fact that it dried my mouth out a bit. Used Teavana Perfectea Rock Sugar to sweeten and steeped for 11 minutes.
Preparation
You have mentioned it dried your mouth a bit. A strange effect of teas is that with some teas, people will feel thirsty even when drinking plenty of the tea, while for others, tea can quench thirst. Sometimes this can be a physiological reaction due to dehydration if your body is lacking in water content or electrolytes. The contents of the actual tea, the type of tea and fermentation level can all affect the effects of drinking tea.
I recently mentioned in a thread that I did not care for chocolate tea due to it not tasting of chocolate. This is the chocolate I was referring to. I’ve been reading and realized its not the tea that was the problem, it was me and my lack of experimentation. I never even thought of steeping more then one time, I always thought it was spent after the first steep, I sure have wasted a lot of tea. Today I drank a cup after the first steep (5 minutes) and determined it did not taste of chocolate. THEN I STEEPED IT A SECOND TIME (6 minutes) and it was delicious and very chocolaty. What I really like is that it holds up to a decent amount of creamer, similar to coffee and with a bit of sugar was exactly what I was looking for in a chocolate tea. I am so glad I still have about 3oz left to enjoy. The 3rd steep was a little weaker but still good, I don’t think it would have held up for a 4th steep. Will I buy it again, that is still to be determined though I am enjoying what I have now.
I ended up getting both.
