15926 Tasting Notes
So I’m fairly certain that this was from kittena judging by the tasting notes. While this tea isn’t bad, it goes into my “oolong” bucket. That is to say, the type of tea I just don’t often care for. There’s nothing wrong with this tea but it carries that distinctive taste that says OOOoOoOoOoOooooOoolong! To me ;) which means that’s all that I can focus on. That being said this tea has a beautiful golden colour when steeped and there’s a taste behind the oolong that is quite nice. I’ll withhold rating it though as my dislike of oolongs would bring it down.
Appreciate the chance to taste it though :)
So for you it seems it is Ooowrong.
LOL I love Oolong but I can see how some would totally dislike it.
Yeppers, Indigobloom didn’t get in on Peony Tea S.‘s promo, so it was from me. I don’t recall if I liked it, but given that I do enjoy dark oolongs… probably!

So I have to say i was curious to try this in part because of how much I love the raspberry truffle from Butiki Teas. Matcha is a whole different ballgame but I was curious as to how they’d be different. This matcha smells HEAVENLY! It actually smells the way that raspberry truffles do when you buy them in shops that make them fresh.
I made this one as a hot Latte, though I’m curious as to how it will blend in a smoothie as well. This matcha is fabulous! I’m not sure whether i like this or the black cherry better – cheesecake and caramel are still my favourites. This though, is that raspberry that blends with the chocolate that isn’t the waxy type of chocolate that makes me hate chocolate. I’m really glad that i went with the robust in this matcha as it’s the kind of taste that says HEY! EAT ME! :)
I really do want to thank Red Leaf for their matcha program, even though it’s new incarnation will be a bit different. I don’t think i would have tried as many matchas if they hadn’t had a great program. I probably would have stuck to consistently ordering 2 of the same kind. It’s flavours like this that make me want to keep on trying all of the flavours until i’ve had them all.
Raspberry Truffle you make my heart happy for the delicious taste of raspberry and chocolate together!

I really wasn’t sure what to expect with this one. I am a big fan of Chai’s but i’m also very particular about the chai’s that I drink. Opening up this package was a weird experience. It first smelled strongly of cinnamon, then the hazelnut took over and then, vick’s vapo rub?!?! Yeah…don’t know what’s up with my nose but that’s what i’m smelling.
As always, I ignored what my nose was telling me and brewed this into a hot latte. I have to say, i don’t think i’d ever get this in a robust flavouring! This balance of spices when blended with the milk are as much as i’d need. I really like this blend of cinnamon and spice. It’s not quite what i expected but it’s still a wonderful warm treat that I will LOVE when winter finally gets here. I can imagine sipping this after cold evening walks in the snow with my other half. I really think he’d enjoy this one as well as it’s not too strange a chai blend and could replace the hot chocolate he usually wants. Another nice matcha from Red Leaf :)

I just ordered this today… I wasn’t sure about the level of flavoring … my usual is distinctive level with classic Matcha, but, I thought it might be a little too much … but I do like a good, spicy chai.
Well it’s been a month since i last tried this one. Bumping the rating up a bit but this apparently is just not a tea for me. I get a lot of bitterness in this regardless of how hot/how long i seem to steep it. Not a lot of strawberry flavour either. I’ll stick with the blueberry version :)
Mango madness! Ok so mangos are one of my favourite fruits. When I was in Australia I pretty much ate Mangos non stop any way that I could. In ice cream, yogurt, candies etc… sooooo good!
My matcha order was the following:
Size : Small
Matcha Quality: Starter (Basic Grade)
Flavor: Delicate
I ordered delicate for the first time with this one because I was a little worried after the intensity of the pear matcha. When I opened this package the scent was that of Mangos but also the rind of the mango. I was a bit worried that the rind taste would carry over in to the matcha but luckily it didn’t! I popped this matcha into my morning smoothie since I’m fairly certain I don’t want to drink this hot ever :)
Delicious! I know some others haven’t loved this, but I still find it an enjoyable matcha. The taste does have a bit of the rind in it but I don’t mind that so much. It makes it feel more like I took a bite out of a mango and got a bit of rind in my bite. I’d be interested in trying this in a different base just to see how the flavour changes (if it does). I wonder if something like a white base would bring out more of the mango flavour. I’m happy with this purchase – it’s not quite the wonderful fruit flavour that the black cherry is but it’s still good and something I’ll enjoy in my smoothies. I’ll enjoy mixing all my different fruit flavours into a giant matcha smoothie one of these days.

I really hope that my matcha experiments tonight don’t keep me up all night, though if they do then I suppose i’ll just need more in the morning to keep me going tomorrow lol

So! I’m trying this matcha out right after the coffee matcha just to see how the two compare. I have to be honest, I think I prefer the mocha one. Not because of the chocolatey factor but because it taste more like coffee than the coffee matcha did. I made this as a hot latte so that it was similar to what i did with the coffee matcha. The smell is pleasant and it’s a really smooth beverage. I think though that I’d really like to try this cold because it’s how I prefer to drink my coffee/mocha type beverages. I did expect that the flavour would be stronger given that I nearly always go with the robust flavouring. I think with this one you could go even stronger as long as you’re okay with not tasting matcha, which i totally am. I had a thought as well to try mixing the chocolate and the espresso matcha together to see how it compares to this one so that might be something to do whenever i get around to purchasing more matcha. At the end of the day, this is a nice matcha – still not as wonderful as caramel and cheesecake but they’re my ones to beat!

Is that all? Heheh. My hubby always looks really startled when I tell him I don’t have some certain kind of tea! If he only knew how many there really are!
Lol :)
