15888 Tasting Notes
I really want to try brewing this in milk. TO date, all my chai’s are simply brewed with water, which means i feel like i’m missing out on a whole other world of chai. Nik will need to come teach me the way of the chai lol As far as Chai’s go, this one is pretty well suited to my tastes. It’s not tooo spicy and nor is the cinnamon the overpowering flavour.
I tend to like my chai brewed with half-and-half or fat free half-and-half. I like the creaminess it adds. However, it does seem to mute the spices somewhat (I use 2 parts milk to 1 part water) so I use about twice the tea that I would normally. I’ve also found at least with Butiki that if I steep in this method, I can leave the tea steeping for the time it takes to drink an entire pot and it doesn’t get a bit bitter at all. I can also usually get a second pot, though it isn’t as strong.
mmmmmm smoothie! I totally didn’t get a chance to make one yesterday and I missed it. While i thoroughly enjoy this matcha, I’m leaning towards either not ordering it again or trying it with a black base. I’m starting to find that the cookies part of this isn’t quite what I want from a cookies n’ cream flavour. It helps when i add a wee bit of chocolate to the mix but it’s not quite there for what i’m looking for.
Alright Stacy….I did it. I tried it lol. Picked this up as a sample in my last Order from Stacy because it might just be green oolongs that are all wrong for me.
Verdict on this one? It’s not too shabby and doesn’t bear that distinctive OOLONG taste that makes my mouth cringe. However, that being said I don’t know that I’d pick this up again just to enjoy. It’s a really nice tea but it doesn’t have the kickass haaalloooooo! That I like from my straight teas. DOnt get me wrong it’s a great tea for oolong lovers :) just not for sil :) really glad I tried it though cause its a really nice tea…with no oooooolongy taste! Haha
Travelling tea box!
So I’m going to let this one air out a bit before I try it again because there’s a bit of a smokiness to it that I think likely came from one of the other teas in the tea box. First impression though, is that this has the potential to be a good little tea. Holding out on rating it though until I get a chance to let it air for a bit.

So I don’t hate this but I totally see how others have called it “pledge” haha I think this might actually be kinda good if you cold brewed it and added sugar so ill have to try that with the rest of my sample :) hot it’s a little intense, and there are more interesting teas that do this better heh
Travelling tea box!
Yeah…so I figured I’d give David’s another chance since I have easy access to them..but again, i find myself disappointed. This isn’t really “salted” caramel…it’s caramel. Which would be fine except the coconut in this throws the caramel off just a bit.
YAY Travelling teabox!
So admittedly i picked this one in part to try a NON black adagio blend to see if it’s just their black or it’s all of their teas. Verdict is…it’s all of their teas. I just don’t understand everyone’s fascination with them. It’s kinda like david’s tea…i mean they’re alright but there’s SOOO much more out there that makes me happier :)
That being said, i don’t hate this blend like i have the black based blends, but it’s also lacking a bit. I REALLY like the sound of this blend but i feel like this compared to what Stacy could pull out of her hat, just isn’t worth it. Drinkable? yes? enjoyable? meh.
Sorry TeaEqualsbliss! :( I’m sure it’s adagio and nothing to do with you. I’m with momo on this…adagio and I just don’t get along.
Adagio is sort of a gateway tea, kind of like teavana. It gets people introduced to loose leaf tea, and that’s a good thing, but, for the most part, their teas are rather lackluster.
Thank you Travelling Tea Box A! I do know who included this but i know by the time i get around to reviewing all of the items I snuck out of it, i’ll have forgotten it. So consistency and all you know :)
I was totally distracted while making this. I lost about an hour of my work day this morning when the mailman showed up early which meant i HAAAAD to open my travelling tea box, sort through it, package up teas i took from it etc… you know how it is. PLus i received 2-3 other packages in the mail and i was like it’s CHRISTMAS!!!!!! well as close to it as I’ll get since this year won’t be really christmassy with all our friends being out of town and no time to visit either set of our parents.
Anyway…i’m rambling. This tea… i made while trying to grab lunch and takle 13 different things at work. i distractedly picked up the team to sip and WOAH! HELLO! It was like WOMAN! PAY ATTENTION TO ME! YOU WANTED ME! NOW LISTEN UP!
I’m not sure what I was expecting with this tea. I think I pretty much had decided i was either going to hate it or love it. The jury is still out on how i feel about bergamot. Well folks, i love this. Its not a tea i’d drink all the time, but it IS a tea i will thoroughly enjoy and likely replenish when I run out. It’s vanilla..and citrus and smooth. It isn’t a dessert tea but it’s not quite a MORNING tea if you know what i mean. I feel like i should be drinking this with a scone. of some sort. it’s fruity..and yet not.
I will have to give this even more attention when I have less urgent things from work. All in all, a giid first step in my travelling tea box!
