drank Four Red Fruits by Kusmi Tea

Smells nice! But there’s not much in the flavor department.

I hope this isn’t going to be the trend with Kusmi teas. I’m glad I bought the smaller sampler sizes and I hope I’m going to find at least a few that are winners for me!

I like their Russian teas. the rest is just trendy teas

I have some samplers, so I’ll keep trying, but I haven’t been too impressed so far. :(

That’s the way I feel about teavana teas in general too (smells great, tastes bland). Hopefully you find a few you like!

I hope so. It was suggested that I come back to these after more tea experience. I admit that I’m just not that into the subtlety of some teas yet!

This was ok. The smell was really good, and I can taste the almond, although it’s definitely a mild flavor.

The green tea base is a little grassy, but I guess that’s normal. The almond was enough to balance it. Does this taste like almond grass? Kind of. But I would say the almond is first, then grassy almond mix, then just grass on the finish.

Oddly, it works. I don’t think I would repurchase, but this was pleasant enough.

I would love it if someone could explain how the dry tea smells like a cherry and a grape had a baby in a field of newly mown grass.

And the wet leaves smell like more of the above, plus cranberry.

And the actual tea tastes like sweet grass. I was really expecting more of a veggie broth kind of taste.

I’m fascinated and mildly dismayed at the same time. Sometimes I buy berry flavored teas, and there’s nary a berry to be found. I get a green tea with asparagus, and suddenly I’m in fruit city.

drank Black Mango by The Tao of Tea

This flavored tea has a nice aroma, but I’m missing the mango when I taste it.

The tea was brewed for 5 minutes. It really just tastes like a plain black tea. It’s not bad, but if I wanted a plain black tea, that’s what I would have purchased.

drank Cherry Green by Adagio Teas
278 tasting notes

I think I should have tasted this before trying Adagio’s Cherry Black Tea. I drank the black tea first, so the green never stood a chance. I love the black tea, so it’s now the standard against which I compare all cherry teas!

The scent is pleasant, but not as strong. Once brewed (3 min), it just tastes very (very!) lightly of cherry. I really prefer a stronger flavor, so this was a little disappointing. People into flavored tea subtlety may enjoy this one.

reviewed Libre Tea Travel Glass by Teaware

Love this! I have the 9 oz and 14 oz sizes. These glasses are so beautiful! I’m really happy with mine. These can be used as shown in the company video to make tea two ways, but I have a couple other suggestions.

First: I use this to brew tea at work. I like letting the leaves float around in the glass, then pouring the tea into a mug. I get the lovely floating leaf aesthetic, but without the leaves sitting in water for too long. It’s easy to re-steep this way, too.

Second (and best): Cold Brew. Some teas are amazing if you put the leaves in your libre glass with cool water, then put in the fridge overnight. In the AM, you have a lovely cold tea with low bitterness. Note – This does take a little experimentation. I find most black and white teas to be good like this, but sometimes greens taste odd. Also, sometimes you need to use a little extra tea. The cold brew method produces a mild tea and I just drink it through the strainer with the leaves in the glass. Yummy and pretty!

Libre tea customer service is great. My smaller glass was getting condensation inside the hologram. I emailed and a replacement was promptly sent. All is well now!!!

This set is just gorgeous. I wanted a white tea set for gong fu style brewing. The teapot is a little larger than many I have seen. It’s around 8 ounces. The cups are around 1.5 ounces. This also has a 6 oz. tea pitcher, but I mainly just use the pot and cups for now.

The set comes with plum flower cups, but Yezi Customer Service was kind enough to allow me to substitute their other lu yao cups instead. I liked the clean lines better on the “plainer” cups. When I asked about care, I was promptly advised to hand wash with mild soap, and that these sets can also gently be cleaned with a toothbrush. Good to know!

It was harder than I thought to find a reasonably priced gong fu set that was white. I like to really see the color of the tea when brewing and drinking! The porcelain is very smooth and feels almost “soft” to the touch. I love this set and I keep looking for excuses to brew tea in it. Not that I really need one. There are no cons to this set, only pros. It’s perfect! Highly recommend!

The scent of this tea is lovely, full of citrus, floral and vanilla notes; however, the flavor is mostly floral and there is an unpleasant aftertaste.

This was steeped using boiling water for about 3 minutes. The flavor was barely there, so I left it for another minute at at 4 minutes, it seemed better.

The tea has a light bitterness, but it’s not outrageous. I don’t taste much of the vanilla/cream that was promised because the floral flavors steal the show. The problem is that they aren’t terribly pleasant.

The tea feels a little chalky, and the aftertaste is strong. I have tried Earl Greys that I like, but I don’t think this will be one of them.

drank Jasmine Pearls by The Tao of Tea
278 tasting notes

This is a lovely jasmine tea. I just brewed this side by side with jasmine pearls from another company, and these definitely win.

The aroma is strong and lovely. The tea was steeped for 3 minutes and the flavor is strong, without being overpowering. This would be a great choice for anyone who loves jasmine green teas.

I did notice that this particular tea has many more broken pieces than some of the other pearl teas I had tried. But it still tastes better!

I think white teas may be too subtle for me. I brewed this for 4 minutes, and I tried it more than once, but I just can’t get excited about it. It’s not a bad tea, but it’s not great.

I just don’t think it’s worth $23 for 2 ounces, sadly. Since 2 ounce is the minimum, that is what I paid. I’m hoping that someone who enjoys white teas will want to try this on a tea swap. It’s just not for me.
