Here’s the riddle of the day. How can someone who really dislikes vanilla love Vanilla Comoro so much?

Unfortunately, I don’t have the answer, but fortunately, I do have the tea. I bought this on a stroll through Royal Oak. I had stopped at Goldfish Tea and made my way (with milk oolong in my cup!) to a chocolate shop. There, they had a tin of this. I bought two bags to take home and make. I love that it’s decaf and was looking for something nice to sip at night. The smell was amazing. I can pick out the rich vanilla scent and something else, like ooey, gooey cookies.

205/4 min. Now, my whole kitchen smells like a bakery. It tastes sublime, like freshly baked sugar cookies, with a moderate black tea base and… vanilla. Can it be true? I actually really like a vanilla tea? Yes, yes, I do.

This sounds so good, this tea has a large fan base.
Guess I will have to order some.

This tea smells like lovely strawberries when dry. Since I had such great luck with thepuritea’s Mango tea and Passion Fruit tea, I was hoping it would hold for this, too.

205/2 min Now, the strawberry scent is muted a tad. It still smells nice, though. The taste is pleasant, I just wish the strawberry had hung on a little bit stronger. It’s muted, just like it’s aroma. I still really like the tea, but it just doesn’t taste quite as special as I had been hoping it would be. I prefer Mariage Frères’ Marco Polo tea for a great strawberry flavor.

The leaves are a brilliant green color. They are slim and long and delicate. I get a freshness in the pre-brew aroma. It’s slightly sweetly scented in a natural way. I really didn’t want a cup of veggie soup today, so I went low on the temp and slightly longer on the steep time. 160/1.5 min. Superb! It did the trick. I am notorious for incorrectly preparing my green teas, but I love them, so I keep trying. It worked this time. The aroma is now a fresh, leaf-like scent. The taste is very lightly sweet, more floral, but most certainly not overwhelmingly floral. I’m not getting any butter flavor, just nice, clean, delicious flavors. It’s slightly grassy, but that’s what I love in a green tea. No bitterness. This is my green tea.

its my go to green as well. This was a winter plucking so its a little less buttery and slightly more brisk. I can drink this all day long (and I do)

This package of tea packs quite a powerful punch in the fab fragrance department. It’s absolutely enchanting! The most obvious scent of which is the coconut. It’s a fresh coconut aroma… very nice.

I cut down on the temp and steep times as I’ve read just how strong this tea can quickly become. 205/1.5 min. The color is a deep chestnut brown. The aroma is still amazing. Rich, deep, alluring. I’m really looking forward to it now. Upon tasting, I’m rewarded with exactly the coconut flavor fresh toasted yumminess that I had been hoping to savor. The ginger is only hinted at in the overall taste, but it’s just enough to add an ever so slight spiciness to it. The tea base is rich and divine, with a very slight bitterness at just 1.5 minutes of steeping time. Overall, the effect is near perfection. I really enjoyed this one.

So, here I sit, trying to put off grading final exams. (Again.) I needed something light and decided that now was the moment to try my ValenTea from 52teas.

Black currants have a unique taste. I happen to like them a lot. They’re berryish, but with a deep, rich tartness to them. In the dry tea, the berries are visible and they smell so promising.

Steeped 175/3 min. The tea is a rich golden color and the smell is nice. Not as fresh as before, but still pleasant. The tea tastes very nice. I’m impressed with the berry flavor. It’s definitely a true black currant taste, not like blueberry at all. The aftertaste is slightly medicinal and I’m not certain where that’s coming from, but the tea is so flavorful that I’m already on my second cup. It’s a very nice flavor and a very nice tea. Perfect excuse for not grading final exams.

Simply outstanding mango tea. The scent as a dry tea is outstanding, fresh and fruity. I tried this one at 205 for two minutes and it’s perfect! This is an amazing mango black. It’s not bitter and the mango flavor is well-defined and maintains itself well even once steeped. It’s a delicious, tropical taste that just pulls me in with each sip. It’s so lovely!

Okay, you can’t drink this one. You eat it! This isn’t just a tea, but it’s chocolate with tea in it! It’s a fine dark chocolate, with the bitterness that one would associate with a quality dark chocolate. It has chunks of apricots scattered throughout. Then, it’s sprinkled with Tangier Tea from American Tea Room. This tea is not only amazing when brewed, it’s amazing on this chocolate. It’s a really great chocolate and tea combination and I’d highly recommend giving it a try.

I’m a middle school teacher of French, Spanish, ESL and reading intervention. I’m also a mom to two young children.

I’ve always been a tea lover. When I lived in France during college, I really loved the tisanes. Over the past couple of years, I’ve branched off into loose teas. I’m not very knowledgeable about teas, but I’m really loving the learning process!
