True to name this one is just a solid, classic chai…the black base is smooth and well-rounded and the spices are just the right mix of heat and flavour. It’s rare to find a chai that’s this balanced, so this is actually pretty awesome.

It’s not outstanding in terms of having novel flavours or being really out-there…but if you just want a nice, dependable chai this is a great option. Two thumbs up.

I’m used to seeing choco-mint teas with a black base, so this one really surprised me when I opened the bag to find fluffy green sencha in the pouch…

It goes delightfully well with the flavours, though – there’s just a little bite of mint at the end of each sip and the chocolate is delightfully polite; it weaves in around the vegetal green notes without becoming overwhelming.

This is a delightfully light tea that dances just along the border of what I’d consider a dessert green. It’s an interesting cup that I really do enjoy while working on the computer, so it’s one I’ll likely buy again.

I feel rather surprised by this tea…I had two cups of it and it still didn’t impress me enough to write a note during it.

With that said, though, it’s not a bad tea. The black and green teas meld together delightfully and the fruit flavours – though a bit pedestrian in execution – are enjoyable enough. It resteeps and handles sugar quite well, so I really should be more into this tea than I am…but it just doesn’t manage to keep my interest the way it should.

It’s a good, tasty tea…but not the one for me, for some reason.

Today is one of those days that involves a lot of cramping and watching the Avengers. I needed a tea that could simultaneously coddle me and kick me hard enough to get me moving…this one fit the bill pretty nicely.

It’s a nice mid-range black. Not as strongly pushy as some of my breakfast blends and not as soft as some of my flavoured blacks…this just sits right at the intersection of yes, I’m awake and let me sit here and sip on you a while, you pretty thing.

A bit of sugar in the cup mellowed it out beautifully. I think it’d go really well with milk, also, but I’m not in the mood to try it out today…

Good cup, though, and I’m definitely enjoying it. Whenever I order from Teajo again – and I’m sure I will – this one will likely wind up in the basket…it’s not the best black I’ve ever had, but it’ll solid enough that I’d like to keep it in my cabinet as a way to introduce new drinkers without making them a cup of something I’m really in love with.

This is a damn fine green tea…it’s light and delicate, but oddly accepting of a little bit of sweetener. There’s a fine grassiness to it that makes me think of haylofts and fresh-cut grass without the bitterness that I often find hiding in the greens I drink.

The mouthfeel is surprisingly silky – with a bit of an astringent bite at the end – and I’d be willing to bet this one will wind up in my rotation right alongside a lot of my heartier black staples.

I’ve not had all that good experiences with Teavana’s rooibos blends in the past, but I decided to give this one a tentative go…

In the cup it smells pretty nicely of cinnamon spice and just the barest hint of that cardboard rooibos note that can linger in the lower-quality ones…but the flavour doesn’t quite match up with the scent.

I mean, it smells like it should be really good but the taste is just a flat and rather mediocre cinnamon without the depth and heat that I expect from a quality chai.

Not sure what I’ll be doing with this one, but I’m not all that excited to drink it again…

I can’t quite put my finger on what I think of this tea…there’s a firm vegetal note at the base and lighter flowery jasmine flavours at the top; with a tsp of raw sugar to tone down the mild bitterness of the green it makes an enjoyable cup.

I’m not sure this is something I would want to steep again – since I think I’m more of a black tea girl – but this might go nicely for my green-drinking compatriots.

Oh, and as it cools the jasmine-flowery notes become far more prominent…in a surprisingly pleasant way. This is such a nice little tea that keeps surprising me.

Oh…wow. I’ve been rather in love with the Dreamsicle Puerh from 52Teas and I was a little curious about how the rooibos and orange would go together. Luckily, this tastes absolutely delicious!

The cream flavour is delightfully well-executed and curls around the inside of the mouth after every sip…the orange and rooibos twine in together to highlight the citrus and woodsy notes in an intensely delightful cup.

It doesn’t have the pure Dreamsicle sort of flavour that the 52Teas had, but in terms of simple and delicious (and slightly cheaper) orange dessert flavours this is an amazing cup.

I’d likely buy it again just to have an entry-level tea of this sort to give to my less-discerning friends. :)

Brewed this one up according to company directions – 3min at 175F – and I’m definitely not impressed. It came out seriously bitter on the aftertaste, bad enough that I’m going to toss it down the drain and start anew.

Second steep was 2min at 175F and the results were slightly better. The aftertaste of bitterness is lessened, but I happen to find the fruit flavours less than appealing…I pick up a lot of pineapple and papaya (or possibly mango) that doesn’t merge well with the green base.

I think if I were going to make it again I would keep the steep down to 1min at 175F to hopefully kill the bitterness that happens as it cools…but my honest opinion is that it’s not worth another round of steeping to hopefully get it up to mediocre.
