49 Tasting Notes
Last time I went to DavidsTea, they were literally just unpacking the summer stuff, so we got to try iced samples of the Pink Passionfruit. I was a little skeptical at first – my exact words were ‘Um, I’m not too fond of passionfruit things.’
Yeah right. >_>
I’m uh, gonna let the rating speak for itself on this one. Perrrrrfect fruity iced tea. Gonna pick me up sone of this.
EDIT: picked up a 100g tin and am not disappointed. Have a little pitcher icing in the fridge right now. Tip; if like me, you fiond the hibiscus sometimes overpowering, mix it as a tea pop with 7Up instead of sparkling water. Or do what I did, and mix just about half a tsp of this into a big mug of Tropicalia.
Rum. Why is the rum always gone?
Maybe this tea is why? I was underestimating it, expecting a watery artificial butterscotch abomination at best. Because no one seems ot be able to do rum-flavoured ANYTHING properly.
This tea tastes like rum. Actual, legitimate, bottle-clinking, swigging, drink-up-me-hearties-yo-ho rum. As in, I want to brew this up and mix it with actual rum. Because thats the only way I think it could get any better.
Got this before Christmas because I was curious. Chocolate and spicy AND Chai? Consider me sold. Anyway, got this as a latte to-go the same day. The only downside I found was the chocolate tastes a bit too artificial. Others have complained about it not being spicy enough, I dunno, any more spicy than this and it would be overpowering. This one’s definitely best as a latte though.
Wonderful for winter. Might be good iced too.
Blech. Not impressed in the slightest. Normally I love love love vanilla anything. And its delicious in so many other teas so I had high hopes for this tea. either way I was still hesitant so only got a tiny bit of a sample to try. And rather glad I did. Either I didn’t used enough tea, or the tea itself is a weak blend because I hardly tasted any vanilla in this blend.
Not enough vanilla and too much rooibos in this blend. Maybe its because I’m not a rooibos fan to begin with? Too sweet for my liking. Now if it were a black tea base perhaps?
Picked up 25g of this to try whilst getting more of my favourites. Smelled it and had to try it.
Initial thoughts – Smells a lot like Daydreamer, however I haven’t tried that particular tea so can’t speak for how similar it tastes. Smells like Fuzzy Peaches candy. o.o
Green teas are hit or miss for me. Kokomo Green though, is growing on me. You can really taste the mango in this one. A bit bitter, but not in a bad way? Its not something I could have in a big mug every day, but a little cup after waking up.. cleared my head right up.
Fair warning, DO NOT oversteep this tea, it will turn out overpoweringly bitter.
Wow. I’m not usually one for herbals but this was surprisingly…
Cutting right to the chase, this smells amazing. Myself and mum tried this tea as a sample when we went for Bollywood Chai, and while it was delicious, we both agreed it was missing something. Stroke of genius later – as a latte this tea tastes, no joke, like banana cream pie. Now I’ve tried the Banana Dream Pie tea as well, it tasted artifical and kinda.. bland. This one is like someone shoved a slice of banana cream pie in a blender, liquified it, and put it in a cup. Perfect perfect perfect.
Now…to see if I can successfully get a second steep out of this cup…
This is my new go-to. Admittedly, I wasn’t even aware it existed until I tried it.
SO there I was, picking up a book in a wonderfully insane series (which I will now always associate with this tea) and since I was there, stopped by DAVIDs. Wasn’t really sure what I wanted to try, so the girl workign there started giving me recommendations. Then she suggested Fantasy Island. I gave it a sniff. Wasn’t too sold on it, kind of skeptical, but something about it drew me in. And it started smelling delicious.
And there I was, sipping a delightful latte, all the while unknowingly falling in love with another tea. If you’d told me I’ve be drinking raspberry and coconut tea, I’d have called you crazy. Normally I don’t go for raspberry anything, let alone with coconut, but there’s just something about this one.. o.o
Aaah. This is one is what started my love affair with DAVIDsTEA..
This one doesn’t require much sweetener, if any. Haven’t tried it with agave yet, but regular sugar or honey is too much for it. This one I tend to drink straight. Cannot oversteep much either, not sure if its just me or I’m doing something wrong but its a very finicky tea for me, despite its deliciousness. Either way its chocolatey, minty, and one of my faves.
