11 Tasting Notes
I just stumbled upon a Teavana location this afternoon, completely unaware of their existence! Of course I had to go in and explore. I walked out with two teas, this being one of them.
The cup I just made is lovely! I used the tea timer on their app – 5 minutes exactly – and it worked wonders. The coconut taste hit me first, with the salted caramel coming through after. The overall taste is subtle, but not too hard to find.
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place!
LOVE this one. I’m usually all about the crazy sugary flavours, but this one is wonderfully simple, while still having a discernible flavour (as opposed to the milk oolong, which didn’t taste like anything in particular). A little bit of vanilla is all I need to have a delicious cup of tea.
Reading the reviews of this tea made me want to drink it. So, I made myself a cup. It’s not as well-steeped as I’d like because my beloved cheesecloth steeper finally got too gross to use, and my other cheesecloth is too small for my favourite mug, so I had to use the steeping spoon. I don’t think it did as good a job. But I’m not here to review methods of steeping!
Using brown sugar in it, as David’s Tea suggests, is wonderful. This tea is so perfectly pumpkin-y. Someday I’ll make it with steamed milk… (daydreams) It really is the quintessential fall tea. I find it a bit odd to drink it at other times.
I had this first as an iced tea, which was delicious and made me feel like I really drinking root beer (hey, does David’s Teas do iced lattes? If they do, that would make it a true root beer float). It’s also nice hot, although a little less root beer-y and a little stronger.
