Dry: This is a bagged sample from my last Harney order (thanks H&S!). I can’t really see the dry leaf in the bag well, but it looks like a short black CTC type. Smells really fruity- tangy and super sweet. I am not sure if I would say passion fruit, but maybe stone + passion fruit blended together?
Steeped: Dark brown clear liquor. Smells like a nice black base with a less candy-sweet passion fruit aroma now as compared to the dry bag.
Taste: I like that the tea flavor is still coming through in the sips, though the passion fruit flavor has taken on a decidedly brisk/astringent edge. Still fruity and tangy as a brewed tea, but I’m thinking the 5 minutes listed on the label is too long for whatever base this is. This wouldn’t be a reorder for me, but if I had it again I’d try maybe 3 minutes and see how it goes. This one might also be best served iced. Glad I was able to try it though!
