I have been sipping on a tumbler full of this that I have cold brewed all day. It is interesting. It really feels like you are sipping on water and then the spices hit you in the back of the throat. At first, I didn’t like it. I thought it was far too weak even though I brewed it with two bags and for a good 18 hours or so. But it grew on me when I was studying. It gave me a little more energy with the spices and rejuvenated me. It was a better version of a flavored water.

I don’t know if I would ever have this cold brewed again. I might try it brewed hot and then iced and see how that tastes. It was an interesting experiment. Better yet, I still like this tea and will be drinking it hot throughout the semester.

My roommate bought this tea during the summer before our sophmore year of college. She brought it with her this year for us to try.

The liquid was very dark and it smelled earthy. The tea leaves smelled a little bit like damp dirt. The tea itself tasted very woody to me. It was interesting. I never really had a tea that tasted like wood. It wasn’t a bad taste. Just unexpected.

I’m leaving this unrated for now until I try another cup or two. Then I will know how I like it.

My roommate has had this tea sitting around unopened for about ten years now. She got it from her time in Scotland. She finally decided that she wanted to start drinking it now. I showed her how to warm up her tea pot and we let the leaves float loose in the pot. The leaves were surprisingly short. We boiled water in my new kettle too.

The liquid was a dark amber color with a hint of red to it. It was very pretty. The smell was nice and a little earthy. The taste was light, but it had a bitter kick at the end of it. I think we might have brewed it a little too long though, so the bitterness could be user error.

We are going to try this again soon and either use slightly less leaf or steep it for a little shorter to see if we can get the bitterness down. I’m not going to rate it until I get a couple of cups of this tea, so I can tell if I am going to really like it or not. I do like it enough to drink another few cups of this.

I had this foul tasting honey at school. It came in a packet and it was awful. The honey was so bad that I had to put milk in it just so I could drink the tea. I was not wasting a cup and I really wanted tea this morning.

Note to self: don’t try anything different about this cup in the morning.

I am beginning to appreciate the low key mint to this tea. I brewed this at a slightly lower temperature this time. I’m getting used to being at college again and I was going through major tea withdraw. Unlike my roommate, I will microwave my water for my tea. I still steep my herbal teas like crazy though. I like a stronger herbal tea.

This is exactly what I needed after my first day of classes. Something with little to no caffeine and something that would make me relax. I just need to remember to bring my own tea bags to breakfast with me and everything will be good.

I had a cup of this at breakfast and there was little flavor to this one. I could taste no vanilla and it didn’t taste very good overall. It tasted better with milk, but I couldn’t taste the tea with the milk this time. I really want to like this one and I am chalking it up to a bad cup of tea. I am lowering the rating slightly. It could just be that I am developing better tea tasting taste buds.

This is the tea that my family uses for iced tea. I have been drinking it hot with milk throughout the night because all of my tea is packed up. It doesn’t really have that much flavor, but it still tastes good. It wouldn’t be my first choice unless there wasn’t really anything else I wanted to drink.

My boyfriend made me a cup of tea today and he knew I wanted to try this tea. The tea bag leaked some peppermint powder when it was steeping, so it made the cup look a little unpleasant, but it didn’t effect the tea at all.

I thought this was a little weak. It had a little bit more of a peppermint taste to it, but not much. It tasted smoother than the Stash Peppermint tea and that was nice. I think the next time I have a bag I will have to steep it really strong. It could be that I like steeping herbal teas stronger than my normal cup of tea and that is why I’m not getting the full flavor I would like. I want to try this at least two more times before I stop drinking it. One with a stronger steep and one iced.

This has been sitting in our tea cabinet for some time now and I finally got curious and tried it. The only herbal tea I have been drinking is peppermint and I found out I like it with honey, so I put some honey in this cup. I also steeped it for a good 10 minutes or so. I put the teabag in before I took a quick shower.

First sip: Wow! Ginger spice cookies! Obviously this isn’t just ginger root. It has some spices in it. Because I put some honey in it, the cup does taste like the ginger spice cookies I make for my boyfriend each Christmas that his grandmother used to make for him. Slightly less intense though. I think if nobody else in this house drinks it, then I will have to steal it and drink the rest of the box.

I think I may be converted into making myself pots of tea and having them in teacups. There is something so soothing about heating up the water, tempering the tea pot, and then steeping the tea. I have a perfect two person pot, so sharing is easy as long as I only have one other person. I also like that my teapot is ceramic, so it keeps the water hot for longer than I would expect.

I also like making tea in a teapot when I have to do something very boring. Like dishes. I heated the water and put it in the pot to steep my tea bag. I have no idea how long I left it in. I emptied the dishwasher, made my dad a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and made myself some tuna salad, so it was probably more than eight minutes.

I think I finally got the tea to steep long enough. It was probably a little oversteeped, but it didn’t effect the tastiness of the tea. You can taste the peppermint, but it is more of an after-the-fact taste. I can drink this straight, but I really prefer this tea to be sweetened with honey. I’m not sure how it would taste with milk yet. I should try it one time just to see how it goes.

I would prefer it to be more minty, but this tea just isn’t going to go there. It is good and I would recommend it to somebody that isn’t familiar with mint tea as a starting place.
