The first time I tasted this, I rated it a 99. I may have actually rated it a 100 at one point and lowered it to 99. That is to say, this is about as perfect a chocolate “tea” (or tisane) that there is. I prefer cacao shells to nibs in a tea or tisane because the flavor is just … better. Richer. Yummier.
One thing I will say about it – be sure to steep it a long time. It won’t get bitter because its not high in tannins. This is just pure cacao shells. I recommend at least 10 minutes, 15 minutes is even better.
I love this stuff. Here is my full-length review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/08/04/original-cacao-tea-from-tisano/

The last time I drank this, I just left the leaves in while drinking (my mug had a strainer). It was great.

Yeah, that would work too. I haven’t found a mug with strainer that works for an extended period of time for me. They all eventually leak. And it happens pretty quickly for me. Like within the first ten uses. shrug But yeah … the longer the better with these shells, the chocolate is so YUM!
