4 Tasting Notes
This is billed as a detox tea. I don’t know if it’s actually detoxifying but it is awfully tasty (and smells delicious as well) – which makes it worth the benefit of the doubt. :) After a little bit of experimentation, my favorite prep is boiling water for at least 5 minutes but then let it cool to around room temperature; at hotter temps or if you ice it, you lose a lot of the flavor of the licorice root and cinnamon.
Preparation
Smells like jasmine, tastes like green tea. I agree with the temperature comments – too hot (also too long) and it’s bitter. Good for a cheap tea. I’m going to try to do the cold steeping that a few people here have mentioned (in fact, off to pop a bag in a water bottle to steep overnight).
Preparation
I love this tea – easy to make, and smells delicious. The flavor is pretty light but definitely reminds me of lime cola without the syrupy sweetmess. Because the flavor isn’t strong, it’s really refreshing on a hot or sticky day. I’m tempted to pour a little rum in my next serving. Or a little Kentucky bourbon. :)
Preparation
I love love love this tea. I usually add a little half-and-half and a lump of sugar to enhance the buttery flavor and the sweetness. I tried adding maple/agave syrup but I didn’t think that worked very well – I would like to try some maple sugar and see it that kicks up the maple flavor.
