drank Buddha's Blend by DAVIDsTEA
29 tasting notes

I know its been forever since i last sat to write a review, so here goes… The Buddha must have had some good taste and so do there people at David’s tea because i was very happy with this green/ white blend. Now, normally I find white teas to be extremely mellow and sometimes without a strong overtone from another flavor i often lose sight of the tea and just taste warm water:( But they really did a great job with this one. As soon as you open the tea a very floral and sweet smell of hibiscus flower and green tea. The opening aroma in itself is amazing, so it lends to the inability to wait long enough for the tea to really brew:) The smooth taste of green tea and white tea really work well together in this blend. It might have been the white that absorbed the grassy flavor of a true green and the green lent to the white tea. However the true wonderfulness of this tea really comes from hibiscus flower petal that are so abundant in the tea itself, not mention they bloom out wonderfully and lend even more of that floral and sweet smell to the tea. You can smell it from around the room as it steeps and i can personally say that after 5 steepings this tea blend definitely has some staying power. 5 steeps! and the smell and flavor maintained tip the end…i just wish i had some more:)

Just a normal guy that gave up the normal daily coffee for a healthier, more flavorful, more intrinsically complex beverage. Being a US marine and deploying on the regular makes enjoying a decent cup of tea difficult at times but shows that even the “rough” guys can enjoy a great cup of tea.

Here are my rating categories, FYI:
100-90: Absolutely awesome! I don’t know why i’m spending time typing about them instead of drinking!
85-89: pretty damn delicious, and will keep most of them in the permanent collection, but they’re not quite as spectacular as the cream of the crop.
84-80: Tasty teas that I enjoy and would drink again when i can find it, but more than likely will not make a second appearance except for freebies and samples.
79-70: Teas that I would probably drink again, but wouldn’t seek out. They don’t quite do it for me in one aspect or another; often just not quite my style
69-50: Teas that I don’t really enjoy all that much and wouldn’t drink another cup of.
49 and below: The unfortunate bottom category. This tea is just disgusting to me.
