30 Tasting Notes
Warm, just a tad bit spicy, and very refreshing, I really enjoyed this tisane. It has a very smooth mouthfeel and a mellow disposition, accented nicely by a slight bite of ginger. Very good…I’d actually like to keep this on hand, and I don’t normally drink herbals.
Preparation
I got this with my first Steepster Select box, and I like it. The flavor is lighter than a straight Assam, but the texture is very pleasant…not thin, but not too thick either. It’s got a slight bite on the back end, which is indeed reminiscent of cinnamon, and a somewhat mint/menthol-like “feel” (not “flavor”, per se) on the front, making it very intriguing.
I’m enjoying this cup very much…and now that I’ve read other reviews, I think when I try the second packet I’ll do a gong-fu style brew, as it sounds like that brings out more of the spicy flavors. Still, good stuff even brewed just normal cup style, IMO.

Preparation
Thought I’d start back to the “cuppa before bed” with the matcha in my fridge. It’s old enough that I doubt it’s as potent as it should be, but this did okay, considering I got the water too hot. It’s definitely a bit bitter tonight, but my own fault. But the tin is nearly done, and I have an un-labeled container of more old matcha in the fridge that I think I’ll just use for matcha lattes, etc. I’ll go order some new, fresh matcha tomorrow.
Preparation
This tea is rich, bold, and has that sort of “yeasty” note under the lighter, more pervasive muscatel flavor. Some days I like it, other days, not so much…it’s a mood thing with this tea. Some days (like today), it’s exactly what I want.
