High Adventure Send Message

There’s nothing like the ritual of preparing tea. Right now I’m listening to the water come to a boil and have just selected this tea to try from my Verdant Sampler. I have someplace to be, but decided to make myself a cup of tea and be late to my event.

I’ve just placed the dark, twisting leaves into the tea strainer and am currently waiting on my cup of tea. The brew is light and smells distinctly like Oolong. I can’t wait! It’s been a long, but good, day and I am greatly looking forward to trying this tea.

Mmm… good stuff. I can’t use the flowery language other posters revel in, but I can tell you this is a good cuppa. Lightly vegetal with a pleasant aftertaste. I haven’t made up my mind if it’ll make the list for my next order, but I can recommend it to you to try!

Yum, this is a fine black tea! The taste is so mild — sometimes black tea is very overpowering. I found it to be a bit one-note, but perhaps following Kusmi’s advice of adding milk or sugar may help the flavor. I tried leaving the bag in the second time I steeped it because the tea was so mild-tasting, but this just resulted in bitterness. Do not leave the bag in for this one.

Mmm… Kusmi has done it again! Usually I am not a fan of vanilla, but in this tea it works. I smelled cloves very strongly when I opened the bag, but did not taste them overly much. I would not have minded, cloves always remind me of the holidays. The citrus adds nice, clean notes to the mild black tea. The bag resteeps well and has been fueling me all morning! If I had to choose between this and Anastasia I would choose Anastasia, but I would not turn down this tea if offered.

I enjoyed the smell of this tea, but did not appreciate the licorice flavor when steeped. That’s just a personal preference, though. So far this and Detox are my least favorite teas from Kusmi.

I tried a sample of this tea today at World Market. I got excited because a) tea and b) I would get to write more for Steepster! Is that silly?

The tea was good, but a little bitter. Perhaps the bag was left in too long. Usually I don’t like fruity teas, but this one worked for me. Not to the point that I bought a container, mind you. The black tea gave me a big kick of caffeine, even from a small cup. I could not detect ginger in this tea, which is a little odd since it is the first word in the name!

I love Jasmine tea and I love Kusmi, so my hopes were high for this tea. The fragrance was lovely — I could smell it as soon as I opened the bag. The smell of the tea as it steeped was also beautiful, but I found myself slightly disappointed by the taste. Maybe it’s that I recently tried a wonderful Jasmine tea at Samovar (the one in Yerba Buena gardens in SF) and that spoiled me. This is a quality tea, but it did not knock my socks off. I am undecided on whether or not I would buy it again!

I think I get why the other reviewer was talking about cigarettes… I only steeped for 3 minutes but definitely noticed a strong smokey flavor — in an unpleasant way. It really overpowered the lemongrass and green tea for me. I was disappointed by this tea, especially after hearing all the hype. Hopefully their BB Detox tastes better!

Resteeping resulted in a much better tea, but I don’t think I’ll buy this one.

This is my go-to when I have an upset stomach — the mint really helps. I leave the bag in to maximize the mintiness, but that might be too much for some people. I know many people don’t like Tazo, but my unrefined palate doesn’t mind it.

I love spearmint, so I was very much looking forward to trying it out of my Kusmi Tea Essentials box. I was blown away by the smell when I opened the bag — it smells sweet and spearminty and, just like another person commented, it really does smell like spearmint gum. It’s a sweet and delicate mint smell.

It tastes more like green tea than spearmint, although the mint flavor is present. The taste is different from what I was expecting — it’s very mild. I like this tea, but I have not made up my mind about whether I will order more. I’m enjoying my Essentials box so much that I may just buy another one of that…

EDIT: I steeped it longer the second time I used the bag and the mint flavor really came out. It didn’t get bitter even though I left the bag in!

I find this tea so relaxing. The chamomile is effective, but the taste isn’t overly present. I know not everyone likes the taste of chamomile. I enjoy the rose flavor that comes out after brewing and thankfully I don’t taste the licorice at all. This is a great tea for bedtime – I love to curl up with a book & a mug. In fact, that sounds really nice…
