Sipping some of this down while crafting. I added vanilla almond milk and it tastes like I’m drinking a milkshake. Not sure if that’s a good thing, but right now it’s keeping me out of the cookie jar so I guess it is.

I wanted something to warm me up on a cold winter night and this did the job. Inspired by the recent thread about what milk/cream people add to their teas, I tried adding vanilla almond milk with a bit of brown sugar… what I ended up with was pumpkin pie goodness. Honestly try adding a little bit of something to add creaminess to the tea and sweetness. So good!

Everyone around me has been getting sick, but I feel like this has been keeping my immune system in check. Or maybe it’s all mental, either way I haven’t had much luck steeping this tea more than once. It tastes more watered down at a second steep. I’m almost out of this tea, but I think I’ll try another brand because Davids is lacking for me.

It has been a long day full of finals and counting down the last 3 months until I graduate early. It’s cold, i’m tired and stressed. All I want is chocolate. David’s Tea sent me this as a sample with my order of other holiday themed teas so I brewed it up immediately when I got home. It smells just like hazelnut and chocolate but it tastes like watered down fancy hot cocoa. It’s not bad but it’s not great either. Honestly I would have given it a higher rating if I could taste more of the chocolate or nuts in the tea but I just can’t do it. Maybe I just need to make out like the cookie monster for my stress chocolate binge.

I can see why a lot of people aren’t too fond of this tea. it’s a good rooibos tea but you can barely taste the ginger. It smells wonderful and you can pick up the ginger, but it’s lost when you brew it.

Going through my teas from the New Years grab bag and this was one of them. I normally don’t like fruity teas but this one isn’t so bad. It’s not overwhelming but given my tastes, I’m not a fan. It does brew into a very nice iced tea though.

Great breakfast tea. I can pick up on the earl grey immediately but the blackberry and vanilla sweetens it up a bit. It doesn’t knock my socks off though. I wish I could taste more of the blackberry and vanilla but the earl grey really overwhelms it. Don’t get me wrong, earl grey is my go to morning tea, but I was hoping to taste more of the blackberry and vanilla.

The perfect blend of spice and sweet. I honestly believe this is my favorite tea ever. Opening the bag, the smell is strong of the orange and cranberry, but after brewing the rooibos vanilla chai takes it back and creates a perfect balance for me. I think I’m turning into a chai fan because lately I have really enjoyed teas with some spice. This tea definitely warms me up on a cold night.

When I opened the bag, I thought this tea was going to be too sweet for my tastes. Boy was I wrong. Sure it smells almost sickeningly sweet out of the bag, but upon drinking it, this tea is very light. It’s just a hint of tangy sweetness but very relaxing.

Way too sweet, I was expecting to taste more of the jasmine and white wine. This tastes more like bubble gum to me. Maybe I’ll try brewing it differently but this tea is pretty nasty to me.

Profile

Bio

I became a tea addict after I decided to make some changes to my diet and cut out soda completely.

Teas I like
I love Japanese green teas but I can be a little snobby about them. When I was in Japan I stayed in an area known for sencha, so I can be pretty picky.

Companies I enjoy
I’ve had most experience with Lupicia because they’re very close to me. I enjoy their non flavored green teas and white teas the most. Their flavored teas are good, but it’s usually a hit or miss.
DavidsTea is a bit far but when I make trips to San Francisco I usually buy a bit. I like their herbal teas the most. Their other teas never wow me and have too much flavoring for me.
I like Adagio for their fan blends – I wish more companies did this! The tea isn’t the best quality but I do enjoy my initial steeps.
I found a store near me that sells Mariage Frères. They’re expensive but I don’t think I have had a more delicious cup of tea before.

Tibits about me
I returned to school several years ago and I am finally graduating in March 2014 so I’m really excited to finally be receiving my bachelor’s. I spend my evenings when I’m not studying watching cheesy scifi movies, playing video games, watching video game streams, or stalking the internet for tea. I have an adorable old man kitty who always wants whatever I’m drinking. When I can, I like to sew and knit while I marathon BBC shows or asian dramas.
